Iran section in Mother's Day edit

In Mother's Day#Iran, why are you removing that paragraph? Many governments have used this holiday for their own goals. In other sections it explains how other governments have used the holiday. And it's well sourced. --Enric Naval (talk) 23:10, 26 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I didn't mean to remove the whole thing. Good that you wrote back. I have a problem with some of the terms you (or the other editor/s) are using there: e.g., 'submissive' or 'regime'. Both are pretty loaded terms, and I know many people find them--esp the former--to be offensive. To be honest, that's why I joined Wikipedia as an editor: that is, after a number of my friends had pointed out such instances (and specifically, this article), and I saw it was a fair request. As to why they wanted _me_ to take care of such matters? Well, what I do involves language to a good deal, and I'm not averse to it. As to why I removed the whole thing? I couldn't find the exact location of these words in the html edit section so I decided to remove those lines. If you think we can work together and tone down the language, I'll be happy to let the point you mentioned stand. UncleKasra (talk) 22:50, 27 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

(I didn't reply before to your comment because I didn't see it)
I'm probably the one who wrote those words. But I don't remember well. Other people might have tweaked the words since I wrote them. It can take a lot of time to check who wrote which words, and I don't think that's important in this case.

I am not a native speaker of English: I might not notice that some words are loaded. Even if I notice, it's difficult to think of alternative wordings. I think that Wikipedia is good because other people with better knowledge of English can improve my clumsy words.

Your rewriting works for me. The facts are still in the article, and they are still sourced. And the new language will not offend people sympathetic to the current Iranian government.
By the way, could you check Father's_Day#Iran? There are several missing facts: what was the date of the holiday before the Revolution. Was it in the third sunday of June, or the birthday of the Shah of Persia, or some other date. When it was changed to the current date. What was the title and author of the proclamation of the new date. If it was passed via a law, the name of the law. --Enric Naval (talk) 21:54, 3 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

My talk page edit

Why did you revert my talk page? I moved your comment from the top of the page to the bottom, because new threads go at the bottom.PiCo (talk) 03:27, 11 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

I've left a message on the Talk page of Alexander the Great in the Quran, as that's the appropriate place to discuss article content.PiCo (talk) 11:57, 11 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
