License tagging for Image:Ucpmainpage2fd4.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Ucpmainpage2fd4.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ucpbanneral9.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Ucpbanneral9.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Coredesat 06:03, 25 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:Ucpmainpage2fd4.jpg edit

I have tagged Image:Ucpmainpage2fd4.jpg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. Redirect of Ultimate Car Page edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Ultimate Car Page, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Ultimate Car Page is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Ultimate Car Page, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Le Mans template edit

I think some changes might be necessary regarding the Le Mans template, especially so that it doesn't take up so much space. I think there are some things there that could be eliminated (red links that, honestly, aren't really necessary to have articles), years in which the race wasn't run (1936 24 Hours of Le Mans as an exception), a link to the FIA (not directly connected to Le Mans, although Le Mans was part of the WSC from time to time), as well as general links to general topics such as endurance racing, sports car racing, and even the 3.5 Litre Formula (not even something that technically relates to Le Mans, since 3.5 litre cars were just Group C cars running the existing Formula 1 rules, and they only lasted 3 years). I figured it was mostly copied from the Indy 500 template. Some things I deleted simply because I felt that if we included them, we'd have to include a lot more things. For instance, if we included the World Sportscar Championship, we could technically add IMSA GT, Interserie, Supercup, or any other series from which Le Mans has invited cars from. Since Le Mans has always stood as a stand alone event in terms of its rules and such, I figured it'd be best to include no series rather than making an insanely large list of everything they've picked and chose from. I had never considered creating the pole sitter or fastest lap articles because I felt they were rather secondary to the race results or winners list. However, there are two good sources for these two records: World Sports Racing Prototypes should list the lap record and pole position driver and team for nearly every Le Mans (you'll have to look under either the World Sportscar Championship or Non-Championship Races categories), while Le Mans Register lists nearly every lap record and pole position, although it appears some of the results are debatable, especially in the early years. Thanks for the links. I actually picked them up a few minutes earlier off the WikiProject Sportscar racing page. Another thing I was thinking of working on was adding qualification results to past races but I realize that this would take an obscene amount of work. Maybe I'll work on it when I'm bored. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
