By all means my edit is not a negative claim about a group of people. You have misconstrued the edit. I have merely clarified the points set out in the genetic study that's already sourced on this topic on the traveller people about being divergent from the general population potentially beginning from the Cromwellian displacements across the land. The term indigenous is misguided as all ethnic Irish are indigenous. Being of Traveller descent myself, I don't understand why there's such labelling if not only to create greater division amongst us Irish. Please review the genetic study to gain further clarification.

Did you formulate and write this section in particular ? If so, I would like to see your source(s) for the inclusion of "indigenous" in identity specifically ? We ethnic Irish are all indigenous. As for genetic divergence from the general population being primarily through inter-marriage and kinship practices, I'm not sure on your knowledge of our country, culture and history, however it is well known that the travelling community inter-marry and this is highly likely the reasoning of such genetic divergence - due to a "genetic isolation" as such over the centuries. The topic is essentially correct so to speak but the use of "indigenous" is essentially irrelevant and really in today's climate serves to divide our society. It all adds up.
