Information icon Hello, USAWC Press. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Parameters (journal), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Sumanuil 23:01, 14 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

January 2022 edit

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:38, 16 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

I am not a paid editor, I am a volunteer and enjoy these types of journals. I understand why you blocked this account due to username and promotional edits. Contributions in the future will be to update content and articles cited. A new username has been requested and promotional edits will not be included in the future.

Decline reason:

Please propose a new username that is less convoluted than the one in this proposal. A name in the format of "John of USAWC" would be acceptable. If you are in the US Army or otherwise work for the college, that makes you a paid editor even if you have not been specifically paid to edit or specifically directed to edit by superiors. As noted below, your edit suggests that you have an association here. Please tell us what edits you wish to make or what articles you want to edit, and how you will do so consistent with the policies described. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 15:06, 17 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
This edit suggests that you do have a connection with Parameters (journal) and/or the United States Army War College. Why did you choose a username that specifically uses "USAWC" if you have no affiliation? --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:39, 17 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

Proposing less convoluted username. Removed organization from username. Wish to edit page to give more information similar to other academic journals.

Decline reason:

The username you've chosen is acceptable, though barely less convoluted than the previous option. In any case, you won't be unblocked until and unless you address the three bullet-points (Disclose ... Convince ... Describe ...) in the first dirty yellow notice above. Please also reply to the question immediately above this. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 15:37, 20 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
