E.C. Schroeder moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to E.C. Schroeder. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:25, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I've moved this to drafts, because there is no evidence of notability. We normally require three or more secondary sources that are reliable and independent, and provide significant coverage of the subject. It's a bit difficult to know what coverage the sources 2 and 4 provide, but I'd hazard a guess that the latter provides rather passing mentions, and the former may not be independent as it is someone clearly writing about their own family. The third source (cited as 1 and 3) is probably the best of the lot, but it alone isn't enough.
On a separate point, there is also no indication why this person is noteworthy, ie. what makes him worthy of inclusion in a global encyclopaedia. Every article must 'speak for itself', ie. provide clear justification why it exists. As it stands, this would have been quite an obvious candidate for A7 deletion. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:33, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Multiple drafts

edit

I've just discovered that you had created the article (which I just draftified) as a copypaste move, by copying the content from your existing draft Draft:E. C. Schroeder and pasting it into the new one Draft:E.C. Schroeder. Please don't do that, it causes all sorts of problems. If you decide which of these you want to continue working on, we can arrange for the other to be deleted, as we can only have one draft on any given subject. Thanks, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:36, 9 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Diocese of Orlando

edit

Wikipedia is a serious encyclopedia and the topic of moon jurisdiction should remain only as a tidbit in the article given its anecdotal and doubtful sourcing. Under no circumstances should anything be put in the infobox. ~Darth StabroTalk/Contribs 22:26, 26 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

It was claimed by the Diocese and never refuted by the Pope. USA1855 (talk) 05:41, 9 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
