April 2009 edit

Hello, whoever you are. A word of advice, if you're new to wiki collaboration. Don't copy huge chunks of text from a website unless the text is free licensed. Wikipedia is very sensitive about copyright infringement.

On the other hand, if you wrote some text for another website, and you have the right to release it into the public domain go ahead. See also the GFDL.

And don't be in such a hurry to tell us all about your beloved alma mater. This is an encyclopedia, not a newspaper. We build our articles over a period of weeks and months. --Uncle Ed (talk) 18:59, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

October 2009 edit

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images, however, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded, specifically University of Bridgeport, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. Please note that we take very seriously our criteria on non-free image uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Cirt (talk) 18:48, 6 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to upload inappropriate images, such as at the article University of Bridgeport, to Wikipedia, you will be blocked. F3: Media file with improper license. Cirt (talk) 18:51, 6 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive uploads.
The next time you upload an inappropriate image, such as University of Bridgeport, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. File:Knights Field2.jpg, blank page, no license info at all. Cirt (talk) 19:03, 6 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Hubbell Gymnasm3.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Hubbell Gymnasm3.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:20, 6 October 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Cirt (talk) 19:20, 6 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
