Speedy deletion nomination of Gir (character) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Gir (character) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. shoy (reactions) 19:48, 1 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

June 2016 edit

Your recent edit to List of frozen yogurt companies appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person or organization added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Every time you edit this article you get a warning not to add companies that do not have Wikiarticles. The notice is there for a reason. Meters (talk) 05:14, 4 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

So I can create U-Swirl ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by TylerNguyen1 (talkcontribs) 08:00, June 4, 2016‎
Sure, if you can provide enough WP:RS to show that the company is notable enough to warrant an article you can write the article and then add the link to this article. Otherwise the article will likely end up being deleted. Meters (talk) 08:07, 4 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Gir (character) edit

Hello TylerNguyen1,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Gir (character) for deletion, because it's too short to identify the subject of the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. NJR4 (talk) 16:14, 4 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of U-Swirl edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on U-Swirl requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Meters (talk) 18:48, 4 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Did you read my response above? I said that you would have to provide reliable sources to show that the company is notable enough to warrant an article. That is not even close to being an appropriate article. It is completely unsourced, it is not written in an encyclopedic manner, the info box you attempted to use does not exist, and your experience from your one visit is not something wikipedia should mention. I suggest that you read WP:YFA, and try creating your articles as drafts so that they can be reviewed before they are moved to artcile space. Meters (talk) 18:55, 4 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, List of Nicktoons characters edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, List of Nicktoons characters. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Nicktoons. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Nicktoons – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:56, 7 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm SummerPhDv2.0. I noticed that you made a change to an article, List of tomboys in fiction, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Proposed deletion of List of Nicktoons characters edit

The article List of Nicktoons characters has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Duplicates content from the shows' articles and "List of (show title) characters" articles. Redundant. No reason to group all the characters from all of these shows into one article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of List of Nicktoons characters for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article List of Nicktoons characters is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Nicktoons characters until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

When and why are you tring to delete my page? It's unfinished, and I bet you don't know some of those characters.

June 2016 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at User talk:TylerNguyen1, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You are being warned for altering the timestamp on my comment.   Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, as you did at List of Nicktoons characters, you may be blocked from editing. ElectricBurst(Electron firings)(Zaps) 01:37, 15 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with this edit to List of Nicktoons characters. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 07:53, 18 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

I'm going to be blunt with you; based on your editing patterns, I don't think you have the maturity necessary to participate constructively as a Wikipedia editor. In the recent past, you've done various things like putting fake "block notices" on other people's talk page because you think someone is your "enemy", you've removed deletion templates from an article because you "don't want it to be deleted", and in general have failed to participate constructively. As an actual administrator, I can tell you that although your current block from editing is temporary, if you continue to willfully disregard Wikipedia policy and community standards when the block expires, it is likely you will earn an indefinite block. –Darkwind (talk) 03:00, 11 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

I strongly recommend you focus on editing articles and refrain from talking about other editors. --NeilN talk to me 01:33, 14 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

It's been a long time since you were blocked. Can you describe to us what kinds of edits you'd make? For example, can you give us a statement that you'd like to add to an article and a citation to a reliable source that verifies it? NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 20:29, 28 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

There are many things I'd like to edit, but one example is the article Enterprise, Nevada. In the history section of the article, it states that Enterprise was created in 1996, but there is a more detailed reason as to why. I would like to add (in bold) "Enterprise was formed as an unincorporated town on December 17, 1996, in response to a petition from residents who hoped it would help preserve the community's rural identity. This was made to ward off annexation from nearby Henderson.

Hello. I have found another source from the Las Vegas Sun. It also has been featured as a citation in the Paradise, Nevada and Whitney, Nevada articles. Source: https://lasvegassun.com/news/2003/jul/18/las-vegas-bright-lights-but-not-a-big-city/

Hi TylerNguyen1, this is pretty close to the first source's wording – please be careful not to plagiarize sources. However, in this case, there are few other ways to state the facts. "Prevent ... by", perhaps. Materialscientist and NinjaRobotPirate, it's been over three years. I recommend an unblock; the original block was meant to prevent disruption by a lack of maturity that has ceased to exist. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 00:14, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
You can't ping Materialscientist. You'll have to post to User talk:Materialscientist. I'd be OK with unblocking, but I suggest that TylerNguyen1 stick to more reliable sources like the Las Vegas Sun than sites like lasvegasadvisor.com. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 00:47, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
