Your edits to Steel guitar edit

Hi Twofingered Typist, Thank you for your edits to Steel guitar. I knew I didn't like part of what I had written, but couldn't figure out how to fix it. I liked every edit you made. I am somewhat experienced in editing, but now I feel I have attended a master class. You have raised my game to a new level and have taught me so much by example; e.g, wording, more use of active voice, better flow, spacing, date format, links within references, and I will carry your lessons with me. Thanks for taking the time to help this article. Best regards always, Eagledj (talk) 15:01, 2 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the copyedit help! edit

Thanks for the copyedit help! What do you think of this [1] [2]? You were quite kind to go over the article and then state, "the article provides an unbiased, fairly comprehensive look at the subject which is what a Wikipedia reader would expect." Would the article still be unbiased, to list out the written publications of the article subject? In a subsection titled, "Publications"? What do you think? Right cite (talk) 13:10, 13 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Right cite I fall into the "less is more" school of editing. One well-respected publication used as a citation for a fact is enough, three or four is overkill. Highlights of an artist's most well-respected work, or the awards they've won, is better than a list of absolutely everything they've ever done, imo. When it comes to written works, Calvert is not known primarily (or even remotely) as an author. Listing an article she might have written or a book she is mentioned in is not going to add to a reader's understanding of her life/work. I would leave them out. You don't want an article to become obsessively detailed. That never improves it. Brevity is our friend! Regards, Twofingered Typist (talk) 14:05, 13 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
