Something for you edit

  The Running Man Barnstar
This Running Man Barnstar is doubly appropriate; not only because of the huge contribution you've made to a sports article–Youngstown Ohio Works–but also because of the amazing speed with which you did it. Congratulations.--ROGER DAVIES talk 00:19, 11 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

PS: WP:BS has loads of useful barnstar templates.

Wow! Well done! edit

Well, I'm very pleased, and whole-heartedly endorse that FA decision. Tremendously informative, sourced in every detail, clear, neutral but engaging style, and, imo, just about exactly the right length. The barn star(s), and your diligence in seeking out exactly the right format are much appreciated indeed. A little embarrassing (but still very welcome), as I only copy edited something already perfect. Congratulations! :D Alastair Haines (talk) 23:27, 11 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use Image:Mpataki.jpg edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Mpataki.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Remember the dot (talk) 03:44, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

More copy edit edit

Sure, I'd love to look at the new article. If I don't get to this before the current FA is closed, please let me know when that happens so I can move it up my priority list. You're an easy writer to edit for. ;) Cheers. Alastair Haines (talk) 08:27, 16 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Barnstar edit

Well done on Youngstown Ohio Works and thanks for the barnstar! If you get a chance, I've been working on 11th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment and could use an editor with style such as yourself to give it a once over. Regards, Daysleeper47 (talk) 16:11, 17 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the feedback and assistance. This article is a work in progress which I hope to get to GA status when I can add (and track down) some more references. Do you have any more articles up for GA or FA? Can I review anything for you? --Daysleeper47 (talk) 21:11, 17 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ping! --ROGER DAVIES talk 08:28, 18 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'm willing to do a review, but it may take a week or so. I've already agreed to help with Emily Dickinson. If I haven't gotten back to you by the 25th or so, give me a holler. – Scartol • Tok 12:29, 18 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'm willing to do a copyedit of the article but I too have a bit much on my plate at the moment. Give me a day or two to get to it. Cheers, Pigman 01:12, 22 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'll have a look over the article also. Good luck with FAC. Alastair Haines (talk) 16:50, 28 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the barnstar. I haven't finished yet. I really love your work. You're the man that deserves the stars and recognition. I wanna see that FA star for you! I can only hope your pleasure in researching, writing and nurturing to FA lasts for a very long time. Friend, Wiki has the potential to be the medium of record for the world. You're certainly teaching me important things about gripping prose as well as history and culture (not to mention a little about baseball). Happy New Year! :D Alastair Haines (talk) 07:41, 3 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'm willing to do a copyedit, but insofar as there appear to be many other folks involving themselves, I hope you won't be hurt if mine is a little cursory. Residual work at Emma Goldman and IRL stuff has been occupying me. Good luck at FAC. – Scartol • Tok 04:13, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
You're very welcome. Good luck with the FAC. – Scartol • Tok 05:38, 30 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've added a comment at the FAC page, and I apologize for not having the time to more comprehensively review the article. (I'd need to put on my big-picture glasses to properly support or oppose, and I haven't the time just now, alas.) Glancing at User_talk:Kaypoh, however, it appears that particular user has a history of contentious FAC/FAR commentaries. – Scartol • Tok 22:48, 30 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much, T. Though, to be honest, it seemed more to me like sending you up blind alleys and along wild goose trails in search of red herrings :) Happy New Year, --ROGER DAVIES talk 17:31, 31 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
