Flag of the Republic of the Rio Grande

Hi, a relatively new user has added claims to the Flag of the Republic of the Rio Grande sourced to a history dissertation from the University of Houston. The user claims that the Flag of Laredo isn't the actual design of the flag of the Republic of the Rio Grande. Unfortunately, I'm unable to access the complete source to verify that it contains this claim. Do you know anything about this? Thanks. BilCat (talk) 05:14, 17 February 2023 (UTC)

@BilCat - I will look into that. I know there has been a contention for a long time that maybe the hoist of the flag was green, (as in the colors of Mexico), not blue (as in the colors of the Republic of Texas). So, I will have to take a look at this. As such, it is probably a case of competing reliable sources. TuckerResearch (talk) 15:16, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
Ok thanks. "Competing" reliable sources was my thought too. BilCat (talk) 21:50, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
