Be careful what you call vandalism

edit

Because this clearly isn't. See the edit summary. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 00:16, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

I apologize, I did not realize that page was a redirect and instead thought you had deleted the entire page. Trulyy (talk) 00:26, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
No biggie. Just make sure to read edit summaries, they often include context, which vandals wouldn't provide. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 00:27, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Not trying to pile on here, but this is now at least the third time you have had this issue; please reevaluate your approach and try to go slower to reduce your error rate, thanks. 2601:5CC:8300:A7F0:E469:74E5:6977:75F5 (talk) 00:33, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
A third opinion; I support what Headbomb and the IP user said. I think it would be wise to go slower and learn more about how Wikipedia works by doing constructive edits; there are masses of pages which need help. Reverting edits which are clearly vandalism such as calling someone a sexual predator is good. However, in many cases one has to look very carefully into what is going on before reverting. Thank you for the constructive feedback. I'll make sure to be more careful when reverting edits. Trulyy (talk) 16:04, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Rich

edit

"most prominent enslavers" is hyperbolic language, given the context. The quote references owning some slaves, but most prominent borders on slander, and was not considered a prominent part of Rich's work. I corrected the language to accurately reflect the reference. 2601:18A:C500:330:196F:C868:ACCF:7B06 (talk) 20:47, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

I disagree.
"According to the United States census, there were only twenty-four free persons of color and twenty-six Negro slaves in Utah in 1850."
https://issuu.com/utah10/docs/uhq_volume39_1971_number1/51
Having owned 6 slaves, that certainly made him one of the most prominent enslavers in Utah.
As for the accusation of slander, he was one of the most prominent persons in Utah at the time, and he owned more slaves than almost everyone else, if not everyone else. Making a fact-based statement about a negative aspect of someone is not slander.

Reversion of an entire edit for a grammatical error

edit

Hello. Thank you for your work trying to inprove the encyclopedia. The reversion you made on Le Moyne Dolphins women's basketball was a bit more than necessary to address the problem you noticed, which was a redundancy that I erroneously created with my original edit. Since your reversion eliminated content, including an entire sentence that did not contain errors, a better approach would have been to simply fix the error rather than revert the entire edit. I restored the original edit and then eliminated the redundancy. Taxman1913 (talk) 01:05, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I apologize for my mistake. Thank you for fixing it. Trulyy (talk) 01:15, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Joyous!. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Suicide of Aubreigh Wyatt, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Joyous! Noise! 20:30, 24 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Muboshgu. Your recent edit to the page Lucas Erceg appears to have added premature information about a reported sports transaction, so it has been removed for now. The transaction is based on anonymous sources and/or awaiting an official announcement. If you believe the transaction has been completed, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:53, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
