February 2009 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Infant do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Blowdart | talk 19:07, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Kabul. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Blowdart | talk 19:08, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Albania. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because it has been identified as an account used for promotion of a company or group, with a username that implies that this has been done by that company or group. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

This kind of activity is considered spamming and forbidden by policies, and also violates our username policy.

However, if you feel that there has been a mistake in your blocking, please appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} on your user talk page or email the administrator who blocked you. Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Please check that your new username has not already been taken by checking this list. GbT/c 19:12, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I chose the name Tropixphotos because Tropix is already taken. The only reason we are linking in is to provide images of the subjects you talk about, no personal gain simply sharing the knowledge. Yes, we are a business but we are not linking to the business side of the site only to public one. Perhaps you could remove our block please. I assure you the company is not using it for personal gain.

Decline reason:

Understanding you had good intentions, but this is still explicitly against our policies on conflicts of interest. If you want to be unblocked you'll have to pick a new username that doesn't name your company, and also agree not to post any more links to your company's website. What you may do is suggest the inclusion of a link on any article talk page (e.g. Talk:Bahrain) and leave its inclusion up to others to decide. Mangojuicetalk 19:32, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits, such as those you made to Bahrain. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from editing. Blowdart | talk 19:22, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
