Wikidata edit

You need to be very careful about removing interwiki links. At 2012 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships, the links you removed were not on Wikidata. Once you removed them, no English Wikipedia pages pointed to them, since Wikidata is deployed to all English Wikipedia pages. On duck, many links clearly belonged there. Some were not on Wikidata at all despite your claim they all were, and some of those linked to Anatidae on Wikidata were linked incorrectly. At least, check that you don't entirely remove links from the English Wikipedia. —innotata 21:33, 27 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Latvian help needed edit

Hello Treisijs, I'm contacting you because we need some Latvian translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on lv.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Latvian Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 18:17, 16 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Cristián Torres edit

The article Cristián Torres has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. List of scandals with "-gate" suffix‎ edit

Hello, I'm Woodroar. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on List of scandals with "-gate" suffix‎, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Woodroar (talk) 23:08, 16 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Woodroar: see Latvian Wikipedia article lv:Jūrmalgeita. My English isn't the best... Maybe you can add this "-gate" with better English. This list with "-gate" I found accidentally, and I thought immediately about our "-gate". Please, can you use translation programme and add Jūrmalgeita to this list. --Treisijs (talk) 06:37, 17 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
I read Jūrmalgeita on the Latvian Wikipedia and it does not meet our requirements for reliable sourcing. On the English Wikipedia, we avoid web portals (like Delfi) and news aggregators because they republish articles from different sources, so they don't have a "reputation for fact-checking and accuracy" (WP:V). Instead, we need to evaluate the author and publisher of the original source. Any claims about living persons require high-quality sources, and negative claims require high-quality sources from multiple publishers (WP:BLP). We also avoid machine translations (WP:MACHINETRANSLATION). Please let me know if you have any questions. Cheers! Woodroar (talk) 14:29, 17 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
Ok... but that was very big scandal in Latvia. At that time (2005, 2006) one of top topic in Latvia. In my opinion, this scandal must be in this list. --Treisijs (talk) 20:46, 17 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
It may have happened, but if reliable sources didn't cover it then we shouldn't, either. Remember that Existence ≠ Notability. Woodroar (talk) 23:19, 17 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
