Citing videos?

edit

I've been looking for sources for the Tomb Raider Legend article and was wondering if I could cite the trailers? If possible, what sort of references should I add (filename, url, date?)? I got very close to use the cite videos command, but decided to check with someone first. Thanks in advance. Treeble 20:34, 24 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, you would need all that information, and the timeframe when the information appeared, within the video, would also be good. Keep in mind, though, that this would not be an independent reliable source, which are necessary to substantiate an article and its information. —Centrxtalk • 22:54, 24 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the reply. What if the only factual basis is in the trailers? I don't see how else it could become a reliable source. I'd appreciate if you could take a few moments on the Edited Legend section of the Tomb Raider Legend entry to see if what I've added is fine and to check if the unsourced article tag can be removed. The paragraphs without any kind of source to them refer to screenshots. Thanks in advance. Treeble 12:07, 25 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Please see Wikipedia:Reliable_sources. Let me know if that isn't what you were looking for.

Fair use rationale for Image:Amanda Evert.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Amanda Evert.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 14:35, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
