August 2021 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages (including user talk pages) such as Talk:Names of large numbers are for discussion related to improving (a) an encyclopedia article in specific ways based on reliable sources or (b) project policies and guidelines. They are not for general discussion about the article topic or unrelated topics, or statements based on your thoughts or feelings. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. - DVdm (talk) 11:52, 15 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Morgann Book edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Morgann Book requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Speedy deletion nomination of Hotillion edit

Hello Trakaplex,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Hotillion for deletion, because it's a redirect that seems implausible or is an unlikely search term.

If you don't want Hotillion to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Please ensure that redirects are made to articles which actually provide some reliably sourced information on the redirect term, otherwise they are not useful to the reader. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 07:50, 10 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

This note also applies to a large number of other redirects you have made to Names of large numbers which are not explained, defined, or even mentioned on the target page. This is improper use of the redirect function as it does not provide the reader with any useful information on the redirect term. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 08:11, 10 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

What Wikipedia is, and what it isn't edit

Wikipedia is a project to build an encyclopaedia. You are very welcome to start making constructive contributions to the encyclopaedia, in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, if you would like to. There are many websites where it is suitable to play around, such as Fandom, blog hosting sites, and social media sites, and you may like to participate in those, but Wikipedia is not one of them. Only a very small minority of your edits have been attempts to improve the encyclopaedia by making meaningful contributions to articles, with far more of them being playing around, as for example creating a fantasy page about your idea of creating a new continent. More than three quarters of the edits you have made have been deleted, and the proportion is even higher if we include edits which have been reverted but are still in the undeleted editing history; that alone should signal to you that there is some kind of problem with your editing. Of the 181 edits you have made, a grand total of one is an edit in mainspace (article space) which has not been deleted or reverted; that was creation of a redirect, for which your own opinion of its serious value is perhaps indicated by your inclusion of "lol" in your edit summary when you created it. You have created dozens of pointless redirects which were effectively spam for neologisms made up and posted on a blog, which have received no substantial use or coverage apart from people playing around on social media sites. What is more, when you created those redirects you knew that every one of them had previously been deleed more than once, many of them several times, and some of them had been deleted as the outcome of a deletion discussion. Need I go on?
As I said above, you are welcome to start making constructive contributions to the encyclopaedia if you would like to, but if you just wish to carry on doing the same kinds of things you have been doing then Wikipedia isn't the right place for you. If you do carry on in the same way then you are likely to be blocked from editing by an administrator. My reason for spending a significant amount of time writing out a description of some aspects of the problems with your editing is not that I thought you didn't already know what you have been doing, but because I wanted to make absolutely sure you that you realise what kinds of things make your editing unacceptable, so that you can avoid making the same mistakes again, and thereby avoid being blocked from editing. I do hope you will take note of what I have said, and become a productive contributer to Wikipedia. JBW (talk) 09:38, 19 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
