Barnstar edit

Thanks a lot! I got my first barnstar on the french Wikipedia a few days ago though I have a lot of experience there, so I'm glad to see that my first edits on en: are considered and rewarded! Skull33 (talk) 23:31, 27 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sophie Mereau edit

I had her on my User:T. Anthony/Women in Red way back when, but removed her September 2009 as I found she was on other lists. Still nice to see it start and I did a bit of expansion. Hopefully I did okay, anyway thanks.--T. Anthony (talk) 11:21, 16 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Any progress? edit

Hello TrailerTrack, You previously noted your intention to create pages for more Shen Yun performers. Have you made any progress in that effort, or do you still intend to do so? You may note that the list you added to the page has recently been deleted, though I think you would be justified in restoring it, particularly if you intend to create more pages for these individuals.Homunculus (duihua) 12:39, 24 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I really don't know what to do. The other editors on Shen Yun Performing Arts are so agressive. They've really intimidated me from participating, which I think is unfortunate because from the looks of it, I'm the only person on there with an arts background. Articles that I created were marked for deletion and the content that I write gets attacked. They make all kinds of accusations that are just offensive and undermine any type of constructive editing process. Is there anything I can do about this? TrailerTrack (talk) 23:10, 24 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

If there is an easy solution, I don't know of it. For specific content disputes, you could open an RfC (request for comment), or pursue dispute resolution processes. This page is also under ArbCom (see WP:AFLG), so if you feel that the problems relate to persistent disrupting editing patterns or abuse, there is the option of opening a WP:AE case.Homunculus (duihua) 02:10, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Old French to English translation requested edit

The quote is from Dubois 1674, when I think an "s" is written as a "f"; "Solitaires, ces oyfeaux font nommez ainfi, parce qu'ils vond toufiours feuls, ilsfont gros comme une groffe Oye, & ont le plumage blanc, noir a l'extremite des aifles & de la queue. A la queue il y a des plumes approachantes de celles d'Autruche, ils ont le col long & le becq fait comme celuy des becafles, mais plus gros, les jambes & pieds comme Poullets d'Inde. Cet oyfeau fe prenda la courfe ne volant que bien peu. C'eft un des meilleurs gibier do l,Ifle." It is found here; Dubois, Sieur (1674). Paris: Chez Claude Barbin. p. 170..

There are published translations, but other literature refers to errors in the translation. I would be grateful for your opinion on the translation, which is being discussed at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Réunion Ibis/archive1. Snowman (talk) 13:25, 16 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

It might be best if you did not see the published translation before doing your own translation, so that you can say that the translation was all your own work for copyright reasons. Snowman (talk) 17:45, 18 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • A solution has been found, so translation advice is not needed now. Snowman (talk) 21:38, 6 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Dance edit

Hello, I’m contacting you because you are a participant in WikiProject Dance. Myself and another editor, User:Mwacha are interested in developing some notability guidelines on WikiProject Dance for dancers, dance critics, performers, and other genre articles as there is no such thing at the moment comparable to what I have heard other editors use for Visual Arts, IE “if they are collected in a major museum, then they are considered notable.” There are of course exceptions to this standard but it is nice to have a rule of thumb to help with AfD, and other moderated discussions. We hope to start this discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Dance under Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Dance#Notability Guidelines.OR drohowa (talk) 18:54, 11 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Abibac moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Abibac, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:Abibac edit

Hello, TrailerTrack. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Abibac".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 07:12, 14 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
