Blockade and international law edit

There probably ought to be a section on this, seeing that modern readers don't realise there were understood international rules about it. I have added Wheaton as being a widely respected textbook in English published not long after the events.Ttocserp 23:40, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Perfect, Vale talks a bit about each country's stance on the blockade rules. One thing I'm puzzled about is the extent of the blockade, which will determine the name of this article: blockade of Buenos Aires, blockade of the River Plate, or blockade of Argentina/United Provinces? I named it blockade of the River Plate for now. Torimem (talk) 23:54, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Which raises the question: was there an Argentina at all?Ttocserp 00:12, 16 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
This is looking like a promising article! There are much more good sources on the topic than I had initially thought. I'm no rush to write it, so please feel free to take all the time you need. I will read all the sources, some of which I've read long ago, but will need to read again. It also seems to be easier to write than the siege of Humaitá; when we finished that article I suddenly became busy with such a huge amount of things, so I couldn't devote myself to write a well researched article again for quite some time. Images by Trajano Augusto de Carvalho edit

There are quite a few paintings by this artist that might be used for this article.

A complete collection seems to here: http://www.museusdoestado.rj.gov.br/sisgam/index.php?pagina=1&busca=Trajano%20Augusto%20de%20Carvalho&museu=todos&operador=and&qresultados=12&num_interno=

While these are fairly low definition, I have a book of his complete works. You could select ones from the above and I could scan your chosen ones.Ttocserp 18:44, 24 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Will do. Is that how they spelled Niterói? Ttocserp 14:56, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think it is a typo; the old spelling seems to be "Nictheroy". Torimem (talk) 15:19, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Here they are then:
