I question your motives

edit

I find your editing distasteful. Perhaps taking photos of your daughter and writing about her is best left to someone else. Chris Troutman (talk) 17:53, 3 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

So we're clear, I removed most of the text from Draft:Rebecca Rath because it was copied word-for-word from here. My edit summary indicates that. Wikipedia does not allow copyright violations. Each time you press the "save changes" button "you irrevocably agree to release your contribution under the CC BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL" so if the content is not yours, you've violated the terms of use of this website. Just because other articles talk about pageant winners doesn't mean the subject of this draft is allowable. If Wikipedia worked that way, we'd be in a continual race to the bottom. You need to gather more news sources to support the draft. What I object to is the prurient nature of what you're doing. It has no part in my rejection of the draft. Not sure if this is how I reply. OK, just so I understand, I can resubmit after finding more sources and rewriting. Just FYI, that page you cited took the information from Rebecca's original submission to Miss Universe as a contestant, so it was our her words. Also, not sure what prurient means in this instance, not sure that is the right word. I know you are busy, so appreciate your responses.Tonyrath (talk) 20:16, 3 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
You claim it was "from Rebecca's original submission to Miss Universe as a contestant, so it was our her words" but we don't know that to be so. You might be right but newsamericasnow.com asserts copyright, as if she donated the content and they decided that they now own it. Because it's their website we assume they are correct. If she wrote the content for Miss Universe then they might actually own those words; I don't know. You could contact the website and ask them to label the article as public domain, which they won't do. You'll need to rewrite that content in your own words and then cite the website as a source. Honestly, if they're just publishing her words then it undercuts the website's usefulness as a source. Chris Troutman (talk) 20:28, 3 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
