Tonetare, before you accuse me of incivility, you may want to examine your own behavior first. Edit summaries like this one have no place on Wikipedia. Thanks. Powers 12:36, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Tonetare, Wikipedia is a community. We have certain standards of behavior. I'm merely cautioning you that if you continue to take this aggressive stance, you probably won't make many friends around here. By the way, though, when did I specifically ask for comments on my actions? Powers 12:48, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you. Do note that I agree the word choice by DTownG was improper, but the way 65. tried to resolve it was completely unacceptable. I tried to be as fair as possible in addressing that error in judgement, and it pains me to think that 65. and you think it was too incivil. Powers 12:58, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

editExcuse me? What I was doing to the Mark Calaway article was cleanup and trimming the article, so it wasnt as long. Its called helping make wikipedia articles shorter. So dont say anything you know nothing about. Thanks.
--Mikedk9109 14:37, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
All the Calaway article does is tell about his matches and what he did each year. Its the same for each section. It just needs to be mixed up. Example, The Undertaker won the WWF Championship at Survivor Series. He then lost it to (Wrestles) on an episode of RAW. Its the same thing over and over and its not all needed. So, the article needs trimmed and cleaned up.
--Mikedk9109 20:50, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Some of the information should stay. But only his major matches and desrciptions should remain. This article doesnt need every match he had on RAW and who interfeered and who cost him the match.

Warning
editFollowing the warning above, you left this edit summary, which was not civil. Please have a look at WP:NPA, and be more friendly to other users. If it persists, it can lead to being blocked. It is also helpful to leave edit summaries. You can set your preferences so that you get a reminder with each edit. Thank you. Tyrenius 22:14, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Hey there
editNo offense but I think you were being rather nitpicky with that warning you gave me. That comment had a good feel to it. Tonetare 13:21, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- I doubt if the person it was addressed to would agree. It's an unnecessary provocation and not suitable for an edit summary. You've already been warned by Powers about a previous edit summary. If you have a serious point to make, then phrase it appropriately on a talk page. If I were you, I would consider the fact that two people have now warned about a similar action to be a case for refraining from that action. Please leave subjects at the bottom of a page, not in the middle. Thanks. Tyrenius 13:46, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
You have been blocked from editing for violating Wikipedia policy, by personal attacks. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by replying here on your talk page by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}}. You may also email the blocking administrator or any administrator from this list instead, or mail unblock-en-l@mail.wikimedia.org. Despite warning above, you have not sought to communicate in a cordial way with editors but continue to act provocatively, as in this edit, where you call me by the wrong name, and make derogatory implications. You are blocked for 24 hours. Take this time to think how you can be helpful to others.
See ya in twenty four Tyrenius. No offense taken. I don't take offense easily. By the way, I will be on wikipedia making contributions today from my grandmother's house under my other name. Oh, my grandmother lives around the block too. :) Tonetare 19:44, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
- I see, so you're also User:65.31.100.170 and have a grandmother. Oh well, I'm sure she was pleased to see you anyway. Naturally you could be in more trouble for using a sockpuppet account to evade a block, but I'm not going to do anything on this occasion. Please don't remove warnings and block notices from your talk page — that's something else you can get in trouble for. As far as I'm concerned, you have a clean slate if you want to be a good editor, and nothing will be held against you. :) Tyrenius 22:34, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Archive
editI have archived material for you. I hope this is OK. Tyrenius 22:41, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- I think I'd actually have felt happier if you had had the grandma. I quite liked the idea of it! Tyrenius 22:48, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
AGF. That never even entered my head! Obviously I was thinking about my own grandma. But enough of grandmas and back to work. Tyrenius 22:59, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Article you don't like
editBut that's like saying that it never existed, and obviously it did and does. We have to record the truth, even if it's uncomfortable. The real thing is to see if there's anything in the article that you think is inaccurate. History and reality are what they are. Tyrenius 23:23, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, you're an editor. Change it then. Just don't get uptight with people, and end up getting blocked though. Tyrenius 00:57, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
The route is to communicate with other people, state your case rationally (and keep calm) and cite sources. For example, I have just looked the word up in the Longman dictionary, where it states quite clearly its offensive nature in the first sentence. I suggest you do research to find what people have said about the use of this word and then list your references, so that you are using verifiable secondary sources. It's not good enough to know something: you must be able to prove it. Tyrenius 02:33, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- I apologize for "eavesdropping" and butting in where I'm not welcome (and I know you probably aren't all that happy with me right now), but I'm not an admin and didn't protect or request protection for that article. As far as I'm concerned, you're welcome to keep editing it. Please just make sure you don't accidentally compromise the neutrality of it, because that could really stir up some flame wars, etc. if left unattended.
- If you have any questions about editing or anything related to the site, feel free to ask me on my talk page. I'm still relatively new to the site, but I will try my best to help.
- Happy editing, and I hope you aren't angry at me -- Omicronpersei8 (talk) 02:35, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Don't be surprised if it gets changed again. However, I have supported it with a reference (click edit on the article and see how to do a reference), but this does bring up a question you might not have considered:
- "nigger."Longman Dictionary of the English Language, Merriam-Webster, London, 1984. "usu taken to be very offensive when used by whites, but may be neutral or even appreciateive when used by blacks"
So I wonder what you make of that? Remember also that the article is about the word and its history too. Unfortunately I have an old dictionary. You might want to check it out in a new one. The more sources you have the better.
Tyrenius 02:58, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
- I suggest you read through the talk page of the article, and also through the two archives to get a full understanding of the debates that have taken place. Knowledge is power. Tyrenius 03:23, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for kind words. I appreciate that's your position on the word, but of course in an article different positions have to be mentioned if they are true, otherwise it becomes POV. Tyrenius 16:51, 15 August 2006 (UTC) Hey I had a little trouble finding your page but I would like to start the page when every your ready. Send me a reply and Well get to working of the article.TG 50 18:41, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

Personal Attacks and signing posts on talk pages.
editPlease do not leave personal attacks on other users talk pages, and please sign your posts on talk pages by appending ~~~~. -Darryl Hamlin 20:40, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- Simple, I took it as a personal attack due to the way it was written, and I assumed that it would be fairly simple to ascertain that I was talking about the only edit you have ever made to my User Talk page. As for responding in a "joking manner", I was being quite serious. I was merely using the actual definition of the word "gay", not the colliquial definition that it has attained. -Darryl Hamlin 04:19, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
Re:
editI do not act like I own pages. I just revert edits that dont make sense. And look out for the good of Wikipedia. Me and that user have resolved the differences that we had. So, I'm asking nicely, could you please mind your own business? Thanks. --Mikedk9109 22:19, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
Why do you insist on starting trouble with me? I just look out for the good of Wikipedia. And I have no idea why you have a problem with that. So, I take that last message you left on my talk page as a personal attack. I will not hesitate to report you. Thanks. --Mikedk9109 22:26, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
Tonetare, one more time you leave me a personal attack I will report you. --Mikedk9109 22:31, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
No, I know you dont mean it like that. You are being really smart and obnoxious. I dont "control" pages. I just look out for them. --Mikedk9109 22:37, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
I know your being smart in your comments on my talk page. You, say "take control" of my page. I dont take control of pages. How many times do I have to explain myself. --Mikedk9109 22:47, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
What is this all about? This message you left on User:HamishMcBeth's talk page "May I apologize on behalf of this user, Mikedk9101, as I have had numerous problems with him. Mikedk got rid of a bunch of stuff off Mark Calaway page and upset me and was acting stubborn for a long time so excuse him. He is selfish and inconsiderate and can't help it"
That is complete nonsense. --Mikedk9109 23:38, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
Hello
editYes, I get invobled in disputes and he's already got reasons to be blocked. Would you mind telling him politely not to vandalize Travis Hafner anymore? ForestH2 t/c 14:07, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- Not the only one. But I've known him since he created an account and I've had his talkpage watched for a while; and his contributions watched. It might time to block him. Tell me when you've contacted an admin. ForestH2 t/c 18:24, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hello again. I've just given him a final warning for vandalizing two other pages. Me and you are in this together, and because of the many user's he's upset it's time to request arbitration. What do you say about this? I'm tired of this- telling an admin won't do anything. I've done that before with him- it's time to move on to arbitration. ForestH2 t/c 18:30, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. If I request arbitration, would you back me up saying what Mike is? ForestH2 t/c 18:33, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- See WP:DR. I'm counting how many more steps it takes for us to go into Arbitration. ForestH2 t/c 18:35, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- I've asked a mediator (User:Flcelloguy) which is the first step to disputes. Then, we'll conduct a survey; and then it's arbitration. ForestH2 t/c 18:40, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah. I'll let you know where I am with disputes with him at 00:00 August 21? Would you able to log on around that time so we can talk about where we are? Thanks. You might wish to comment at WP:ANI#User:Mikedk9109 ForestH2 t/c 18:52, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Response
editYou asked me to check over your posts to Mikedk9109. I don't consider that the overall nature of these posts are inappropriate or an attack on him. In fact, you seem to be making a lot of effort to be conciliatory. However, try in the future to avoid making any comments on the person (like your first post "just because it doesn't suit you. it is selfish and inconsiderate"). That statement was unnecessary. And also leave out "control" and "my page". It is better to use the words "edit" and "the page I started", or, better still, just refer to the page title, so it doesn't get misconstrued as WP:OWN. Tyrenius 18:53, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, Tonetare. Our troubles are over. This user has just left Wikipedia. ForestH2 t/c 18:58, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
