  WP:VERIFY says: "All material in Wikipedia mainspace, including everything in articles, lists, and captions, must be verifiable." The concept is that the citations go next to the statements they support. With the article on Sanjeev Sanyal‎, your edit moved the text around so that that was not true any more, which meant that some of the statements were no longer verifiable. So I have reverted your edit.

It is worth adding that a great deal of care has been taken with some Wikipedia articles such as Sanjeev Sanyal‎ to make sure that statements are both accurate and verifiable.-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:45, 23 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
