== Re: Denis Wood biography Jan 1.

For a host of reasons, I have been redeveloping an expanded biography of Denis Wood. The current Wikipedia entry doesn't strike me as either complete or neutral. Because I think the biography does not adequately describe Wood's place in his field, or reflect issues of his incarceration (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Denis_Wood), I've written an alternate biography. I've done this with the help of Mendaliv (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Mendaliv).
In creating a biography of a living person the guidelines insist that material be unbiased and relevant. Especially when discussing the legal conviction and incarceration of someone whose primary notariety lies in areas other than that conviction that becomes critical. I'm hoping the anonymous author of the earlier Wiki will agree that this new version both presents the facts and does so in an unprejudiced manner.

I'm hoping to upload a photograph as well ... once I figure out how to do that. The goal is a good, complete, unbiased biography to which others may add.

Note: I am redeveloping a new bio' of Denis Wood, the cartographer and cartographic historian, at User:Tomkoch/Denis Wood]. Older notes on this work have been moved from this page to that page. The final page will have, hopefully, a photograph as well as a decent review of Wood's work. I'm obliged to Mendaliev for his help in this project and look forward to the work and assistance of others.

Per Mendaliev's posting here, I'll offer to take a look at your bio of D Wood. Would that be useful, and if so, would you mind me editing your page? You can of course revert anything I do. I won't do anything until I hear from you; editing another editor's userpages is a potential minefield of etiquette violations! --AndrewHowse (talk) 16:08, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
PS I don't have any particular standing to do this other than being a moderately experienced non-admin editor and a disinterested third party. Feel free to check my contribs and/or decline; I'll take no offence. --AndrewHowse (talk) 16:08, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Replied at my talk. --AndrewHowse (talk) 01:24, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Re the photo; I'll do a little research and figure out some tips for you. Can I assume that you have an electronic copy of the photo and that you own the rights to the image? --AndrewHowse (talk) 00:41, 5 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Now, general policy is at WP:IMAGE and how to do its are at H:IOUF. Take--AndrewHowse (talk) 01:39, 5 May 2009 (UTC) a look and ping me if you have questions?Reply
