License tagging for Image:Photos5.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Photos5.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:09, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Same-sex marriage in the United States, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Copyright information is in the image, I checked. Me-123567-Me (talk) 21:56, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Tomkin, I'm a bit confused by what you are attempting to do with this image. You claim that it is an image you took, and that we do not have the copyright permission to use it, if I follow your statement correctly. However this is the same account which submitted the image in the first place (as shown here), and when it was submitted it was indicated that it was being released under a Creative Commons license, which would be a grant of permission to use the file. Are you saying that you did not so submit the work? --Nat Gertler (talk) 22:20, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
Furthermore, it appears that you were the one who originally added the image to the article. Based on your actions, it would appear that we DO have permission to use the file. Regardless, we have plenty of replacement images, so I have swapped it out of the article for something else and have deleted your photo (including the original GIF you uploaded). howcheng {chat} 23:12, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
