Welcome and introduction edit

Hi, Tomie54i. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  04:07, 10 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Speedy deletion nomination of Contropussy edit

A tag has been placed on Contropussy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Speedy deletion nomination of That 80's Show (fan fiction) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Glee season information edit

Tomie54i, I notice that you've just reverted me on my removal of your new cast sections with the comment "Helpful for readers!!!"

I know you mean well, but this information is inappropriate for Wikipedia articles for a number of reasons:

  • It is not supported. Information on Wikipedia must be from a reliable source: by definition, fan sites such as tumblrs and wikias are not considered reliable, and information from them should not be added to Wikipedia articles.
  • It is not encylopedic. Encyclopedia articles are not supposed to be all-encompassing. This level of detail—cast lists and number of episodes per cast member and guest star—is not only unnecessary, but it duplicates much of what is there already in the text. See what Wikipedia is not for further information on this topic.
  • It adds length to already lengthy articles, and displaces more important information so it's further away from the top of the article.

There have been a few previous attempts to add similar information to the articles, and they have all failed for these very cogent reasons. I realize it took you time to compile the information, but it simply does not belong on Wikipedia. I hope you will not persist in these additions to the Glee season articles. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:43, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Tomie, I strongly advise you to read both WP:RS and WP:OR (original research). The Glee wikia is not a reliable source. It just isn't. As I learned the hard way when I first started editing Wikipedia, reliable secondary sources—those that aren't from fan-based sites and are sourced from places with clear editorial standards and reliability—are a requirement for articles. Furthermore, it isn't okay to watch a bunch of episode videos and count up appearances: Wikipedia considers that to be original research, and therefore unacceptable for inclusion in articles.
So if you persist in including this information, it's going to come back and bite you. Continued attempts to add information that violates these precepts, once you've been warned, is frowned upon. It can even, eventually, lead to a suspension of editing privileges. I'm not doing this to make you or anyone angry, I'm doing it because that's how Wikipedia has decided it wants its sourcing to be vetted. I'm certainly willing to discuss this further on one of the season talk pages (no sense in doing it on more than one of them) if you'd like. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:31, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

November 2012 edit

Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on User talk:BlueMoonset. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. These kinds of personal attacks are unacceptable. If you have a content dispute, I would urge you to take it to the article's talk page. If you continue with your incivility, you will be blocked from editing. Your recent edits edit

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button   or   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 06:15, 29 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
