Just for your information, the syntax is <ref>www.example.com</ref> inserted right after the text you intend to support with your reference. Alternatively, if you want to go the extra mile, you can use Template:Cite web which is our gold standard for referencing websites. Also, if possible, please cite the actual article rather than just the news site. For more information, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
