Look at talk page edit

Hello! I have noticed that you have reverted edits on the page Jun Matsumoto, however I have undone your edits as there is a talk page discussion where we've agreed upon reverting the article back to a certain point and going from there. Please make sure to look at the talk page before reverting on the page next time! Thanks! Blaze The Wolf | Proud Furry and Wikipedia Editor (talk) 15:23, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Regarding a certain page edit

Hey there!

I notice your summary stating "Jun Matsumoto's publications have been deleted, and you're only going to write about Arashi, not Jun Matsumoto's personal information" on the page Jun Matsumoto. Please do not worry as I try my best to keep this page to be focused on Matsumoto himself, and that includes his contributions and position in Arashi (notably his unique concert production role and participation in lyrics writing), rather than merely Arashi as a group. If anything, I think that it would be more inclusive to add all his important contributions in his music career and beyond rather than solely focusing on his acting career (which may not even be considered as his main job!) By the way, a lot of the information on his acting career had been highly repetitive, so what I did is that I made sure the information on his acting career is not tedious, and even made some updates on it.

I would also like more clarification on what you mean by "Jun Matsumoto's publications."

Also, I want to give you a friendly reminder that Wikipedia is against improper/irrelevant sourcing, heavily opinionated text, and gossips, and the version you try to revert to contain the elements I just mentioned. Namely, the mentions about how some of the TV series have Korean adaptation is highly irrelevant to Matsumoto's career, and the part with the mention of Kiko Mizuhara seems highly gossipy, especially considering that there is absolutely no citations made.

I'd also like to bring your attention to this Wikipedia guideline

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.]]

What I'm trying to say is that please do not just merely revert edits like what you are doing right now, and give us a more detailed feedback on the page's "Talk" page!

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely, Suzu2309 17:33, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Update: I see that you removed the mention of Kiko Mizuhara but a lot of the information you provided have no proper sourcing

Arashi was not popular before. But thanks to Jun Matsumoto drama, I think Arashi was able to gain popularity. Tkcmgl12 (talk) 17:55, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

August 2021 edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Jun Matsumoto. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Blaze The Wolf | Proud Furry and Wikipedia Editor (talk) 17:47, 19 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
