  Technical news

  • You will now get a notification when someone tries to log in to your account and fails. If they try from a device that has logged into your account before, you will be notified after five failed attempts. You can also set in your preferences to get an email when someone logs in to your account from a new device or IP address, which may be encouraged for admins and accounts with sensitive permissions.
  • Syntax highlighting is now available as a beta feature (more info). This may assist administrators and template editors when dealing with intricate syntax of high-risk templates and system messages.
  • In your notification preferences, you can now block specific users from pinging you. This functionality will soon be available for Special:EmailUser as well.

  Arbitration

  • Applications for CheckUser and Oversight are being accepted by the Arbitration Committee until September 12. Community discussion of the candidates will begin on September 18.

Re: WIKI adoptee (my) progress. Have tested, target Article/Page revisions in Sandbox & they “look right”. Now wish to apply them.

Unfortunately: Cite web linking quality for 1970’s material isn’t great. However my Cites appear to be comparable to target page Cites re: quality, efficacy, etc..


Pending revisions consist of inserting a few words of text + Citations, which by “nature” comprise LARGE text blocks, into ==Career==.


Problem/WIKI “bug”?

When Contents: Career, Discography, Joy of Cooking, Toni & Terry, etc., “share” Citations it isn’t possible (to MY knowledge) using Sandbox to get an accurate preview of how revisions in ==References== section of TARGET PAGE will display.


EXAMPLES:

Previewing ==References== the following discrepancies in CITATION “BEHAVIOR” appear.

Intuition tells me that CITATION ERROR REPORT, FOOTNOTE NUMBERING “corruption” is a function of redundant Citations in Sandbox & that proposed revisions of target page WON’T produce: CITATION ERROR REPORT, FOOTNOTE NUMBERING "CORRUPTION because of "live" page “architecture”.

Is my intuition correct?

IMHO this is a very small edition project.

Have already done ‘grunt’ work on Sandbox page.

However: have zero experience w/Page/Article edition/content insertion, Citation "footnoting".

  Add (3) Citations, ALREADY created & properly(±) formatted per WIKI Cite t-plates: 
        Book, News, Journal/Magazine.
  Insert Citations (as Footnotes?) into Career text block as per WIKI guidelines, 
        such that these Footnotes are LINKED to Referenced Citations.
