Reason of creating Chanda Gayen with same content of Chhanda Gayen

First I had created redirection that if someone calls "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chanda_Gayen",it will be redirected to "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chhanda_Gayen".it's fine ; But when I was searching in Google "Chanda Gayen wiki" , nothing valid was in return,while googling "chhanda gayen wiki" was returning valid link. That means Googlebots did not find anything relevant to "Chhanda_Gayen" in the article "Chanda_Gayen".

Chhanda Gayen( real Name) is known as Chanda Gayen(spelled by media and others).

So here is the explanation why I had created two pages with same content.
