Hi, Thusband. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  04:57, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

You added a reference to the Janet husband article, as follows: ^ "Professor of Radiology Appointed DBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours". ICR. http://www.icr.ac.uk/press/press_archive/press_releases_2007/7315.shtml. Retrieved on 2007-06-18.

Please note that the retrieval date is the date YOU accessed it, not the date it was created. I presume you retrieved it today, so it should read: ^ "Professor of Radiology Appointed DBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours". ICR. http://www.icr.ac.uk/press/press_archive/press_releases_2007/7315.shtml. Retrieved on 2009-03-23.Sphilbrick (talk) 19:15, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'll also urge you to read Wikipedia:Conflict of interestSphilbrick (talk) 19:17, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages.
