There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:
    Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
    Help contribute to articles
    Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
    Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost
Translate articles from Wikipedias in other languages

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your userpage.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the   button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Blocked as a sockpuppet

edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:Ineedtostopforgetting per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Ineedtostopforgetting. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  -- RoySmith (talk) 14:07, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Hi, this must have been a misunderstanding. As I was logging back in today after a while, I've only just realized that my Wikipedia account was blocked 2 weeks ago, allegedly for being a sockpuppet named "Ineedtostopforgetting". Now, I'm not this person, and the investigation behind this user showed that I'm pretty much unrelated to them. Instead, the explanation given that I might have been this sockpuppet was due to my edits on Hawker centre, allegedly saying that I was restoring edits made by sockpuppets of said user. Fact is, the problematic conundrum over this was possibly due to my addition of the intangible heritage infobox, possibly first added by a sock, which meant that anyone re-adding that could be subsequently accused as being their sock. (You could look at the diffs for that article for further context, the diff was here). "Hawker centre" made the news in the region back in 2020 as it was made an "UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage" (UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists) for Singapore, and I had taken the liberty to add the infobox because Wikipedia specifically had an infobox (Template:Infobox intangible heritage) for it. (Examples for other countries with such infoboxes include Pantun or Nowruz). The exact same infobox was also added by a user named "Robertsky" here, but for some reason was removed by the same user making the sockpuppet accusations, which doesn't seem justified as Robertsky clearly wasn't a sock, they are a user dating back to 2006. I hope that the admin reading this, preferably the blocking admin RoySmith, would now understand the further context behind this, and hopefully get that my block was misunderstood as sadly I wasn't given the time to explain this back then. I wasn't even aware there was a sockpuppet investigation against me, not to mention that I'm not really that active on Wikipedia. Thanks. ThungKrug (talk) 20:27, 26 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
