Wikipedia and copyright edit

Hello Throwawayjamal047! Your additions to Sport in Pakistan have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 22:49, 19 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for January 20 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detectedthat when you recently edited Pakistan national football team results (unofficial matches), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bury. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Orphaned non-free image File:Mehran FC logo.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Mehran FC logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Min☠︎rax«¦talk¦» 13:13, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, yes. I mistakenly uploaded the image in the wrong format as discussed here. Can you please speedy delete this image anyways, as there is no need of it if there is another duplicate and same picture. Throwawayjamal047 (talk) 13:21, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

My bad. Just saw that I mistakenly mistyped his first name, was a typo. I was just splitting the "Club career" section. Throwawayjamal047 (talk) 21:42, 16 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Eleven Star FC moved to draftspace edit

Thanks for your contributions to Eleven Star FC. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. JTtheOG (talk) 02:38, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

A picture you uploaded edit

Hi, a picture you uploaded - File:Pakistan national football team group picture.jpg was of the Pakistan national team which participated in the 1960 AFC Asian Cup qualification and was taken on December 1959. I got the source from a bengali book and recognise two Bengali players in the team, one of which only appeared once for Pakistan and it was during the same tournament. If you need anymore info lmk. FNH004 (talk) 18:05, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi bro, thank you very much for that, I will just edit that part, could you lmk if it was taken in Kochi/India so I can change the public domain country. My idea was to point all the players like I have done in some of the pictures here in the descriptions. So far I can only point out Umer, Changezi, and Yousuf Sr. Not sure if in the top right standing is Musa Ghazi and third standing from right to left is Abdul Ghafoor. If we have the names of the majority of players we can skip some of them stating "unknown" and see if I can find them later. Honestly I was just about to reach you, as I am trying to compile the maximum amount of pictures of the Pakistan national team in public domain to upload here and expand historic articles and sadly as expected many of them lack the exact context, and you are by far the most knowledgeable user I've seen here. Pretty sure I don't have that much grasp on Pakistan football history compared to you aswell, I am doing what I can lol. I appreciate your efforts. Btw, have a look at this account on Facebook. There are plenty of pictures in public domain regarding Pakistani/East Pakistani early football history that can be of your interest. Could you help me in the following.
  • I found this picture with the caption in Urdu saying that it is the national team with "Hussain Killer", Muhammad Umer, Musa Ghazi, Sadiq Masood, Ibrahim, Abdul Ghafoor, Qabeer, Qayyum Changezi and Abdullah Rahi, but judging by the kit it seems that it is a team from East Pakistan/Bangladesh (Mohammedan precisely) and many of these if not all of them played there.
  • I found this picture from an account from Bangladesh pointing his dad who played for Pakistan in the "1956 Asian Games in Tokyo" which I guessed he meant 1958. Unfortunately I can't find the original picture without the watermark, if you can find it would be great contribution here.
Again, thank you very much and hope you have a good day. Good luck for the next matches against Australia and Lebanon. Throwawayjamal047 (talk) 19:13, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
