Watchout! Theres Ghosts edit

re: Talk:Watchout! Theres Ghosts - I'm responding here because that talk page will likely be deleted soon, as the article has already been deleted. You wrote:

I could say the same thing for all the other bands on Rise Records who dont have an article created. Most of them have more friends and have been bands for a longer span than WTG and have been on countless national tours. Why don't you make articles for them first? Thisisyourwayout (talk · contribs)

I did not create this article. I only attempted to rescue it from what I thought was an improperly-fast deletion. Creating articles about bands which barely pass notability guidelines is not my area of interest. As for why haven't other editors created such articles, I don't know. There are lots of areas in Wikipedia where articles could and should be written but they haven't been written yet. By the way, I asked the administrator who deleted this article to reconsider his deletion, so the article may be restored.

The proper way to get rid of articles which assert notability, as this one did, but which are probably not notable is through the articles for deletion process or the proposed deletion process, not through the speedy-deletion process. The AFD process has the advantage of discussion, which can serve as non-binding guidance when similar articles are brought up for AFD in the future. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 17:01, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: Jonny Craig edit

The "Smartpunk" source is a blatant violation of NPOV. The tone of the article is undoubtly biased, with lines like: "EMAROSA is oozing with talent", "Constantly getting requests from fans". Such a slanted source fails the WP:RS criteria. But nevermind the source, the claim itself is redundant. So what if "many people" believe that Craig is the best vocalist in the scene. Its such a vague statement that can be disputed by just about anyone. Who are these "many people"? The fans? If it is, then it add absolutely no weight to the claim. -QuestionOfAnarchy (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 04:39, 20 January 2009 (UTC).Reply

Firstly "Smartpunk.com" is not a known authority. Second, you have not made any attempt to substantiate the claims. Thirdly the points I stated earlier still puts a cloud over the reliability of the source. Oh and WP:QS: "Questionable sources are those with a poor reputation for fact-checking. Such sources include websites and publications that rely heavily on rumors and personal opinions, are promotional in nature, or express views that are widely acknowledged as extremist or pseudoscience".By the way, the sources you provided for the genres are completely unacceptable. Find reviews by known authorities (eg. Rollingstones.com.-QuestionOfAnarchy (talk)

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
