Edit war on List of largest cities in Brazil edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of largest cities in Brazil. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. GedUK  11:49, 24 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Pedro e Thiago edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Pedro e Thiago requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Alexf(talk) 01:10, 18 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Athens. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. You may be edit-warring slowly but nevertheless you are still edit-warring. Next time I will report you. Please do not continue adding that picture in the article. It has no consensus. If you want to discuss its inclusion you know where the talkpage of the article is. Happy New Year.

Copy-paste edit

Can I copy and paste text to Wikipedia that I got from somewhere else? edit

As a general rule, do not copy and paste text from other sources. This includes websites of charity or non-profit organizations, educational sources and all sources without a copyright notice. If a work does not have a copyright notice, assume it to be under copyright-protection.[1]

Even the employees or representatives of an organization may not copy and paste copyright-protected text from the organization's resources into Wikipedia. However, license owners may donate their texts to Wikipedia, as described in Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.

But surely I can copy from this? edit

It is acceptable to copy and paste text from public domain sources or those that are explicitly licensed under a compatible licensing scheme. (In case of the latter, attribution of the original author may be required: see Category:Attribution templates.) However, copying and pasting contents from all other sources entails what is explained above.

In case of uncertainty, please consult Wikipedia:Copyright problems.

Can I copy and paste if I change the text a little bit? edit

No. Superficial change of copyright-protected text is not enough. Wikipedia articles must be written in the author's own words. If the way in which a source has said something is important, please employ quotation.

Can I copy and paste text into a user page or talk page in order to work on it? edit

No. Wikipedia cannot host copyrighted material anywhere, not even in talk or user pages, not even temporarily.

What about quotes? edit

Brief quotations of copyrighted text may be used to illustrate a point, establish context, or attribute a point of view or idea. Use of copyrighted text must be in compliance with Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria policy.

How about copying and pasting from one Wikipedia article to another? edit

Yes, you can copy parts of one Wikipedia article into another, but you must link to the source article in your edit summary. Original content contributed by users can be freely used if the original author is properly attributed. If you have copied text but forgotten to use the edit summary, this can be easily corrected: You can make a dummy edit by making an inconsequential change to the article—such as adding a blank line to the end of the article—and link to the source article in edit summary then. A note such as "content copied from [[source article]] on 1 January 2012" works fine.

Brazil edit

Chronus (talk) 19:29, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for June 9 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Brazil, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Vitória (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of Facegloria edit

Hello Thiagoreis leon,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Facegloria for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Trivialist (talk) 22:12, 8 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
