Speedy deletion nomination of Ghost town (band) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ghost town (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. It's a Fox! Speedy deletion nomination of Ghost Town Discography edit

Hello Thesoundofgrafix,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ghost Town Discography for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, TheClown90 (talk) 16:01, 25 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

You say: "for people to learn about a new band that it is hard to find anything about. It is purely educational, and deserves to stay on here in hopes that they will gain more popularity through this page." That suggests to me that the band is not yet notable enough for an article, and that you are trying to use Wikipedia to increase their support. Sorry, not what we are here for. Please see WP:BAND and WP:RS about the reliable independent sources you need to provide to prove the notability. Please note also that Wikipedia is not for advertising or promotion. I wish you luck with the band, and hope that some day someone will put up an article that shows that they've made it. Until they have got the success and notability, it's not worth trying here. Stick to reverbnation and last.fm for now. Peridon (talk) 16:20, 25 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
