and welcome to Wikipedia. I'm sorry that someone has just been rude to you, but you must remember that this is an encyclopaedia and not somewhere where you can just post anything you like (like Facebook and MySpace). We do have rules here about posting, and I ask you to read WP:PRIMER which is written to tell newcomers how this place works. After you've read that, you should know a lot more about Wikipedia - stuff that isn't seen when you just look something up here. If you have an idea for a new article, I would suggest that you don't just post the article straight off. I think you would be better at first to ask someone who is a regular editor (or an admin like I am), and they will give you advise. This is quite a complicated place, with a lot of editors (and more than 1500 administrators), and it takes a while to get used to it. Most of the regulars are willing to help newcomers, if the newcomer is polite and doesn't tell everyone how things are done after only one week here...). Some aren't friendly and helpful, but if you find one of those you can just try someone else. By the way, when you post on a talkpage (like this one), you should sign your post with ~~~~. That's a code that puts up your username, and the time and date - just like this: Peridon (talk) 16:20, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

about asking for advice, and reading WP:PRIMER? I'm sorry, but what you're trying to do just isn't what goes in an encyclopaedia. It would probably be OK in a wiki about MLP - you can create your own at wikia.com, but don't ask me how or what to do. I do know they use the same sort of coding, so if you can set up a page here (as you obviously can), you can set up one there. It's the getting started bit I don't know about. Shouldn't be hard, just that I've never looked into it. Don't get the idea that we're trying to get at you - lots of pages get deleted because they don't fit. I've deleted over 11,000 in 10 months as an admin. Once you get the hang of this place, I'm sure there will be lots you can do. Editing is a bit like driving a car. Travelling as a passenger is like looking up and reading articles. Making edits is like actually driving a car. It's easy to start up and get going. The hard part is managing not to hit anything, and avoiding being hit by others, and keeping within the traffic laws (or at least not getting caught...), and finding your way to where you are going without going down one way streets the wrong way. The difference here is that we don't make people take an editing test before they're allowed to edit. If you want to ask questions, you can do it here (with a {{helpme}} tag at the bottom of this page and a question), of by putting a new section at the bottom of someone's talkpage. You can find these in people's signatures (if they have used ~~~~ and not tried to do it by hand). Look at the deletion discussion. People aren't being nasty, they're telling you what's wrong with what you are doing. We don't expect people to get things right straight off, but we do expect people to listen.
