  2. Please do not add commercial material to Wikipedia, as you did to User:Therichsage. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. Papa November 10:37, 1 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Richsage.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Richsage.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:11, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Acceptable content edit

Hi,

Please stop adding information about external companies to your user page. Regarding your recent edits:

  1. Please read the information about what you may/may not have on your userpage here. In brief:
    • Your user page is only for talking about your activity on Wikipedia, although you may put some brief personal information there too, if you like.
    • You are forbidden from placing any advertising material there. In fact, you shouldn't talk about external companies at all on a user page.
    • You may not use non-free images on a user page, even if you are the copyright holder.
  2. Please read the notability guidelines carefully.
    • If, according to those guidelines, your company is notable enough, you may create an article about it. Please read the instructions here for how to create an article. Don't just place it on your user page - it will be deleted again!
    • If your company does not meet those guidelines, I'm afraid it cannot be mentioned at all, anywhere on Wikipedia, in any context.
  3. If you want to upload copyrighted images, you need to provide a fair use rationale. Please read the instructions here.

If I can help with anything else, please let me know. Papa November 12:28, 3 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Papa November Thanks for the follow up. I'll work on such a page for info as a User, and try again with Wikipedia standards in tact. Thanks, Rich Sage
