Re: Peter Shumlin

Hi Thematt523, to keep the image you would have to find out the original photographer and convince him/her to allow the image to be used under a free license (those allowed on Wikipedia are listed at WP:ICTIC). For an overview check Wikipedia:Image use policy. I don't believe the image is eligible for fair-use for the reason I cited in the deletion discussion. Merely taking an image from a blog doesn't make it public domain, as you claimed. You stated that the blogger reused the image from a news source. If that is so the blogger is violating the copyright of the original photographer or the newspaper. Wikipedia has a strict policy against copyright violations.
