Conflict of interest
editHello, Thefarcry. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Mike Hall (musician), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Athaenara ✉ 04:53, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hey there Athaenara! I can assure you that I am not affiliated with the subject in any manner. That being said, I just reached out to the editor who declined the article (Lazy Maniik) and he suggested on his talk page to reach out to you for the article to be reinstated and resubmitted, although he has not currently told me what exactly about the draft was deemed as a copyright infringement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thefarcry (talk • contribs) 05:23, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

@Thefarcry: As you, like User:Janeallen24, who uploaded many photographs of Brown to Commons and wrote a (since-deleted) page about his band, have written about literally nothing else, it's quite reasonable to suppose that there might be some connection that you're not being totally open about. Hence the warning. – Athaenara ✉ 05:53, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Hey there @Athaenara, I can totally understand reasonable suspicion due to that user uploading pictures about the subject, and do appreciate the warning. That being said, I joined Wikipedia to help contribute to the community positively, and thought that this subject would qualify for inclusion based on the information provided in the draft. Additionally, it should be noted that the editor who declined the article even stated on their own talk page (which can be seen here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Lazy_Maniik#c-Lazy_Maniik-2021-10-24T06%3A06%3A00.000Z-Request_on_04%3A35%3A33%2C_24_October_2021_for_assistance_on_AfC_submission_by_Thefarc) that the article did not infringe upon any copyright violations, so it would be great if you could restore the draft for me to continue making edits, thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thefarcry (talk • contribs) 05:59, 24 October 2021 (UTC) Thefarcry (talk) 07:32, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

editHi Thefarcry, you did really great job with taking feedback from the reviewers and making the appropriate updates to the article. So many people do not, even the ones that are getting paid by clients to create articles. Anyway, if you are so inclined, stick around. There's plenty to do around Wikipedia. If you ever do happen have a COI, just declare it. It does not prevent you from contributing; it just changes how you contribute to that particular topic. S0091 (talk) 21:00, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
