Speedy deletion nomination of Mt. St. Helens AVA edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Mt. St. Helens AVA requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Savor SW WA Wine moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Savor SW WA Wine, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.  // Timothy :: talk  04:29, 29 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest edit

Hello, Thebastidge. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 17:08, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I do not have a paid relationship. I am an industrey participant to the extent that I am developing a vineyard, which is not yet commercially active. I am following the progress of the SW WA Winery Association in creating a new AVA, and I am updating the related pages with current events and status. Proposed deletion of Southwest Washington Winery Association edit

The article Southwest Washington Winery Association has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

NN organization, with some promotional language

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. UtherSRG (talk) 11:47, 2 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

This organization is notably active in the creation of a new Washington AVA, which is consistent with other AVA and wine industry related pagess on WIkipedia. Thebastidge (talk) 19:26, 24 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

October 2023 edit

Hello, I'm Theroadislong. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Puget Sound AVA, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 18:19, 24 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

The change I made is merely an update to status that was already referenced there. I've added the link to the TTB pending applications page for new AVA petitions. Thebastidge (talk) 19:15, 24 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Thebastidge, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Thebastidge|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Theroadislong (talk) 19:06, 24 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

I am not a paid editor. I volunteer with the SW Washington Winery Association. I have made changes to reflect current events and status of publicly available information. I am entering into the wine and grape industry as a vineyard owner, but not yet commercially active. The information I have included in the wiki page for Mount St. Helens AVA is from primary sources as referenced and from the AVA petition describing the region and its characteristics. I am not sure how else new information is meant to make it into Wikipedia if not from people who are observing the process.

We don't use primary sources we use reliable independent sources, please disclose your obvious conflict of interest on your user page. Theroadislong (talk) 19:27, 24 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

I used the term primary sources in a research context- from published reference books.

I am unsure how to use a template for my user page. This one seems to instruct me to sue it, but I do not see a template, just instruction on which template to use: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Connected_contributor
