Notability: pop stars and footballers edit

Hi. You are mistaken in your reasoning.

Pop stars and their records can be notable, because that is what pop stars do; it's their job.

Footballers and their autobiographies, however, are not connected in the same way. A footballer's job is not to write biographies; it's to play football. Therefore, a footballer and the matches he plays in can be notable in the same way that a pop star and his records can be.

Autobiographies will not be treated in the same way as a popular work of fiction, such as "Wuthering Heights".

Footballers' autobiographies can be used as references within articles about those footballers. So it is the notability of the footballer which is the correct aspect to be assessed for notability, not a book penned by the same.

You are always welcome to try creating articles about autobiographies, but don't be surprised if they get speedied or go to AfD. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 21:24, 27 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
