Cactions tool edit

The Telephone Company, just to inform you, I've released a long-overdue upgrade to the cactions tool, which you should be able to see already (Ctrl-F5 if not). The tool should still work just as before, although you will need to update your JS to the new configuration system to keep the original tabs functionality; see User:Haza-w/Caction tool for the documentation. If you find any bugs or have any queries or feature requests, please get in touch. Thanks, and enjoy! haz (talk) 20:27, 20 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the information, haz. Telco (talk) 19:37, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Trilegal edit

A tag has been placed on Trilegal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. — Timneu22 · talk 10:56, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Now that your page has been userfied, please work on it there, and then ask another editor before posting to the main namespace. Thank you. — Timneu22 · talk 13:41, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Which editor? I will leave a message on your talk page. You can move it when you are satisfied. Telco (talk) 13:45, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Any editor. You can add the text {{helpme}} to this page to get someone's attention. — Timneu22 · talk 13:48, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Userfy notes edit

In your current revision, there seems to be a bit of WP:OVERLINKing. — Timneu22 · talk 14:10, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think that section refers to inter-wiki links, not external references. Anyway, my task at the moment is only to establish notability so that I can get the article shifted into mainspace and later work on polishing the tone and references. I hope you don't treat all newbies in this manner. It can get extremely time-consuming and confusing. They may never return. Best, Telco (talk) 14:17, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
That section refers to links, and you have almost half the words wikilinked. That's over linking. I'm trying to help, and you're telling me to not treat you like this? You seem to have an awful lot of knowledge, citing WP:BITE and others, for a "newbie." You'd be better off working on the article and improving it than finding guidelines you think will defend your case. Good day. — Timneu22 · talk 14:24, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I don't think I have gone overboard with the interwiki links. The first portion of any Wikipedia article is likely to have a relatively higher number of interwiki hyperlinks. I never claimed to be a newbie until you insinuated about my 20-edit experience. I objected to your CSD tagging of my article because it was done within a few minutes of its creation. Yes, some people patrol new pages. — Timneu22 · talk 15:09, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Don't move it edit

I tried to work with you, but then you just go and post it without any help? It's not ready.Timneu22 · talk 19:39, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Undiscussed move of Trilegal back to userspace: I think you should have discussed the move before requesting deletion. Are you bullying me? I suggest you move the page back to the position it was and seek third party opinion. Telco (talk) 19:40, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Look, I asked you to ask for help before posting to the main namespace. You did not. I'm trying to help you by getting a quality article to post. I asked you to get third-party opinion before posting, yet you moved it to the main namespace anyway. Why? — Timneu22 · talk 19:42, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I think I managed to get enough references to assert notability. If you still have issues, go for AfD, undoing my changes is simply bullying. Move the page back now! Telco (talk) 19:45, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Please let the WP:USERFY process take its course. What's the rush to get this article in the main namespace? Do you work for them, and they gave you a deadline? — Timneu22 · talk 19:47, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Quit making wild accusations. You are in the wrong and you know it. Telco (talk) 19:50, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I asked you a straight-up question: what is the rush? This page should be reviewed before being posted. Your attitude has been combative from the beginning. I am trying to help. — Timneu22 · talk 19:53, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
I moved the page back to mainspace. You may wish to AfD it. Telco (talk) 20:58, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Help me edit

I have a page in my userspace that I need reviewed. Can someone help me to get it ready for the main namespace? (Message added by timneu22 on behalf of this user)

You can check out AFC and it's detail information. Or Check out the feedback section. If you have any other questions, feel free to place this help again. --WolfnixTalk • 19:54, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, but I just want your opinion on whether "User:The Telephone Company/Trilegal" is ready for move to mainspace? Telco (talk) 20:00, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Excess use of peacock words like "prominent"; insufficient sources (I'm not sure that the "Legal 500" site qualifies, for example, as a reliable source). --Orange Mike | Talk 19:56, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Excess? Anything apart from "prominent"? The Legal 500 is an international website which gives information on law practices worldwide. Plus there are other sources apart from Legal500. Does this qualify my article for a speedy? Telco (talk) 20:00, 5 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Trilegal for deletion edit

A discussion has begun about whether the article Trilegal, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Trilegal until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. — Timneu22 · talk 10:56, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Listen to me one time edit

First, it is important to note that you're a single-purpose account; you have 25 edits while two editors with thousands of edits believe that the article is not notable. That's important; we cite policies and guidelines for inclusion, whereas you do not. Secondly, you have not once acknowledged that I have tried to help you and that you ignored my requests for another user's opinion in the userspace before posting. AfD can be especially brutal to new people who really want their article to be kept, and I offered the userfy-and-review alternative so that your article would have a better chance. But you decided to ignore me, and you haven't once acknowledged that you posted quicker than you should and that you didn't get anyone else's opinion. Frankly, I'm not at all sorry if this article gets deleted. — Timneu22 · talk 23:33, 7 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of DFDL Mekong edit

The article DFDL Mekong has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (companies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back. Thank you,

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
