Reverting

Only admins have a button to automatically revert a page with one click, and they are only allowed to use it to revert simple vandalism. However - you don't need to cut and paste! Go to the page history, view the version you want to revert to and click edit. You will get a warning that you are about to edit and old page. Make sure you put that you have reverted in the edit summary and give an explanation of why on the talk page (unless it's vandalism, then it's obvious why you reverted just put revert vandalism in the summary). Don't engage in multiple reverts, or revert wars, they are unconstructive and lead to admins blocking the parties involved. Theresa Knott | Taste the Korn 14:09, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
