Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Powhatan, and I noticed that your username, "The Powhatan Nation", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. I dont believe it is a violation. It is my email address as wel I am the Chief of The Powhatan Nation. I am however not speaking on anything biased. I only added to facts about my own tribe. I 100% appreciate what you all do and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help. i wouldn't jeopardize that.

Hello, I'm CorbieVreccan. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Powhatan language, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. This bit in particular is doesn't work: "lead by the original Great Chief Wahunsenucawh's (Chief Powhatan) great grandson Chief Uduladi (Markanthony Ramsey)" ... more generations have passed than this. The great grandson, by technical, genealogical terminology as most en-wiki readers would understand it, would have died many generations ago. If you are using the alternate usage, I get it, but Wikipedia is written for a general audience. - CorbieVreccan 19:58, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Tsenacommacah. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. - CorbieVreccan 20:02, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to add promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Powhatan, you may be blocked from editing. - CorbieVreccan 20:11, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Im not adding promotional advertising at all! The Powhatan Nation (talk) 20:14, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
You are writing about yourself, and edit-warring to do so. That is not what the encyclopedia is for. - CorbieVreccan 20:19, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, The Powhatan Nation. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. User declared COI: "I am the Chief of The Powhatan Nation."[1] [sic] - CorbieVreccan 20:09, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing certain pages (Powhatan, Powhatan language, Powhatan people, and Tsenacommacah) for Conflict of Interest, self-promotional spamming and possible WP:HOAX editing after warnings..
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text at the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  - CorbieVreccan 20:16, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
