Brint edit

A Proposed Deletion template has been added to the article Brint, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page.

If you give a reliable source, I will of course retract the "prod". Aleph-4 13:43, 31 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Brint edit

Brint, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Brint satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Brint and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Brint during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Mattinbgn\talk 00:03, 2 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Michael Jay Williams edit

A tag has been placed on Michael Jay Williams requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 08:43, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

IUCN2008 edit

Could you make sure all of the IUCN statuses yoou've updated are using the new {{IUCN2008}} template? I know at least on Numbat you did not use the template (and removed the existing {{IUCN2006}} template. For some reason I'm having a hard time accessing the redlist website and can't do it myself. Thanks! - UtherSRG (talk) 04:33, 8 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Look at the article before you remove a {{IUCN2006}} template, and simply replace the 2006 template with the 2008 template. You did extra to Numbat that was fixed by another editor. - UtherSRG (talk) 04:58, 9 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Typo redirect Ash-Gray Mouse edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Ash-Gray Mouse, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Ash-Gray Mouse is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Ash-Gray Mouse, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Tagging redirects for deletion edit

Just to let you know that if you are tagging a redirect page for deletion you should place the tag on the very first line, before the redirect itself, in order for it to be categorized properly. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 12:35, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok, thanks Stifle. The Pharmacist (talk) 12:37, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Boodie edit

Per this edit, should it be mentioned that it was once listed as VU on IUCN, but was later removed from list? Also it will be good to add a picture. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 10:11, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • Ok, sounds good, thanks for your help. I'll try to get a picture but I'm not sure if Wiki already has any. Thanks. The Pharmacist (talk) 10:41, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Page blanking edit

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Bettongia penicillata penicillata. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. --Allen3 talk 14:07, 11 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:47, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
