I notice your recent

welcome to User talk:Rgambord. It might (or might not) be useful to know that he (his edits suggested that he was a he) has just left wikipedia in a fit of pique and might never be able to appreciate your warm welcome, though others do. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 16:23, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

Persecution of Christians in the Soviet Union

There is an ongoing discussion on the talk page. Certain editors there are preventing the removal of these misleading or inaccurate claims backed up by unreliable sources.

The total number of Christians killed, as a result of Soviet state atheist policies, has been estimated at over 20 million. “Christian Martyrdom: A global demographic assessment“ Orthodox Leaflet “The Way Home. Issue 13.2e - The Orthodox Church” “Focusing on the Persecuted Church: The Century of Martyrs” at http://www.jwipn.com
During the purges of 1937 and 1938, church documents record that 168,300 Russian Orthodox clergy were arrested. Of these, over 100,000 were shot.[1] 04:03, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Nazi germany was not and never was a republic

what is your opinion, since youre instrested of fascism related subjects Peterzor (talk) 18:15, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

The Nazis came to power under the constitution of the Weimar republic, then governed under the Enabling Act of 1933. So Germany remained a republic, but it would be odd wording to say that Nazi Germany was a republic. I don't think that countries cease to be republics when they become dictatorships, unless the dictator becomes a king or emperor. TFD (talk) 18:27, 16 May 2013 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) Similar to the end of the Roman Republic, defining the end of the republic is difficult. There is also ambiguity in the question as stated, as to when "Nazi Germany" began. The party existed and started growing in popularity from the mid 20s. They had 18% of the vote in 1930, and in 1932 "became the largest party in the reichstag by a wide margin". Hitler was elected in 1933 with the enabling act shortly after. not until 1934 were the Chancellery and Presidency merged and Hitler declared to be the sole Fuhrer. Even after that, I think one could make an argument that Germany was still technically a republic, as the Enabling Act had to be renewed (although certainly they were a puppet group by then), and while Hitler had plenary powers, many laws were still passed via the Reichstag. Certainly the transition away from true republic was much quicker than in Rome or other known examples, but I think one cannot say "It was never a republic". Gaijin42 (talk) 19:06, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

New article on Ford scandal

Hi, I just noticed you suggested this a few days ago. Perhaps you may wish to join the discussion on doing that (last section of the talk page right now). I will not be involved in the writing of it if that is preferable. May122013 (talk) 12:23, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
