The definition of Day/night cricket according to the article is Day/night cricket, also known as Floodlit cricket is a cricket match that is played either totally, or more usually partially, under floodlights in the evening. According to this those matches also fall under day/night category as they played under complete floodlight. This has been for all other cricket article so it should also be used here. Cricket match templates

edit

Hi. Please don't remove the type of template as you did on the 2017 PSL page. Let's try a single innings collapsable template and see if it works better. To my mind, not having an entire page of scores to scroll through is a major advantage - if I need to know specific details I can expand them and see what they look like. Give this way a chance and lets then discuss it on the talk page. Blue Square Thing (talk) 19:34, 9 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Pakistan Super league team articles

edit

Hi. I notice you've been adding content to the team articles for teams which play in the Pakistan Super League. Could you consider splitting those sections off into articles dealing each each team please? Fo example, Islamabad United in 2017 could be created as an article rather than a redirect along the lines of Islamabad United in 2016. The detail of the season can go in that article then which will allow us to have a short summary only in the main article?

As you seem to be a major contributor to the team articles it makes more sense if you were to do so. Thanks. Blue Square Thing (talk) 17:49, 26 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for appreciating my edits . I would Love to do it for you but since i'm new here I don't know much how to do it correctly it would be nice if u help me out. User:The Floka (talk) 09:27, 18 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Look at the 2016 page for Islamabad and use that as a base to work from and it should work OK. The 2017 pages were made as redirects by someone so just go over the top of them. Blue Square Thing (talk) 19:54, 26 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

PSL - March 2017

edit

Hi! Hope you will be fine! As you are contributing for PSL-related-articles very nicely, I would like to thank you for that. But something I want to ask, the 'team records' table was arranged according to alphabetical order as other tables on the PSL main page were, but you arranged it according to Win%, similarly in here. How the Win% of PZ and QG has been calculated (by the ESPNcricInfo) source? As I am unable to understand this calculation, do you know how they have calculated?

Another thing, someone has added 'records and statistics' table in PSL main page. If we visit Indian Premier League page, we can see that only tables for 'teams(')' and 'broadcasting channels(')' are present, and the other tables; like team records, are present in separate pages and not main. I don't know the reason for that, but shall we too remove tables from PSL page in similar with IPL page?

Also, please give edit summaries, at least say "ce" on your first edit of multiple edits at same page on similar time, it will help others to understand what you have done, instead they see whole of your edit(s). Your most edits are of without summaries. Thanks again! M. Billoo 01:25, 9 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi!Thanks.Actually on the ESPN Cricinfo source it can be seen there that they divided no.of wins with no. of matches played except for the one which was abandoned for example quetta have played 20 matches and won 12 out of them but they have divided 12 with 19 (excluding abandoned match).
User:The Floka (talk)

Hi! As you are an active user, I want to share some complains to you, maybe yo can help.
Some people are writing "ESPN CricInfo" or "Espn CricInfo" or "ESPN cricinfo" or only "Cricinfo", but the correct name is "ESPNcricinfo".
Also, last PSL match was on 5 March 2017, so each and every record-list was updated last as of 5 March 2017.
Also, team LQ was last appeared in PSL on 25 February 2017, team IU on 1 March 2017, team KK on 3 March 2017 and teams QG and PZ on 5 March 2017.
Then why people are writing "Last updated: (today's date of wiki-editing)", as records were closed for each team on these given dates, and for whole PSL on 5 March 2017 (as of now)? I suggest that "Last update" date should not exceed from these dates.
Can you please correct these on PSL pages? And (Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four keyboard tildes like this: ~~~~. Or, you can use the [ reply ] button, which automatically signs posts.) as this is easy to use, also please don't forget to give edit summaries on each of your wiki-edit. Thanks! M. Billoo 17:51, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Yes u r right but because records and statistics page was edited on 7 March that is the reason y some people have done it so.Also i need ur help in mentioning every PSL's team players Jersey no. which they wore in the tournament(The Floka (talk) 07:32, 14 March 2017 (UTC))Reply

Tie&W and Tie&L columns??

Hi. I see that you have added back these columns to the LQ and IU pages. What is the rationale behind this? The Super over is meant to decide the a game and the official table doesn't uses this nomenclature either. And just to hypothesize, if either of these teams reverse their current Super Over results in a future game, would it be renamed to Tied&W&L?? Regards. Hi! Thanks for your helps. "Breaking record of biggest day 2", I don't think this needs to be mentioned, because it is already cleared above with "biggest single day for a Pakistani film" and obviously 3.57 of day 2 is greater than 2.99 of day 1. Hope it helps, Thanks!

One more thing, just wanted to share that adding extra spaces is unnecessary, it may help in making code look beautiful but nothing goes in actual reading. It just makes the page heavy by few unnecessary bytes. Well, may be I am just kidding. M. Billoo 21:27, 24 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Night matches are considered day night matches here. Read the article Day/night cricket carefully. Human (talk) 16:36, 1 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Can you Please have a look at Scorecard. ESPN have clearly mentioned 8 PM UAE time matches as Night matches. Why are you changing it again and again without seeing it. Please visit 2018 Pakistan Super League carefully. You might get my point. The Floka (talk) 17:19, 1 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Night matches and day/night matches are same here. Read the article I linked. Lugnuts explain him. Human (talk) 17:33, 1 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Did you visited Scorecard? Don't know why you are revising my edits when their is clearly mentioned on ESPN that (8 PM UAE time matches) are considered as night matches and all the times which are being mentioned in 2019 Pakistan Super League are in UTC+5 PST. Also Different countries have different time of sun setting, so this can be taken into account while adding day/night with the matches. Thanks! The Floka (talk) 17:47, 1 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Did you ever visit any other pages. Try looking up Australian cricket team in India in 2018–19. The T20I matches are listed as night matches but still it included as day/night in the summary. Same thing applies here. Human (talk) 17:53, 1 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yes, because indvsaus match started at 7 PM local time and at that time you can add day/night due to different weather and sun setting time from UAE but when you look at psl matches timings, I think you are clever enough to understand that first match starts during day at 3:30 pm local time and finishes at around 7:00-7:30 pm in night and second match starts at 8 pm when it's night time and you cannot consider those matches as day/night. IT STARTS AT NIGHT and please don't give me examples of other pages. The Floka (talk) 18:14, 1 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

First of all you just removed another user's message without his consent. And what is don't give example of other pages. An experienced editor has clearly provided an explanation about this issue. Stop being arrogant and fix your attitude please. I don't want to get into a fight with you. Human (talk) 18:28, 1 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

I didn't remove Lugnuts message, I have a big respect for both of you guys, I just saw his message I don't know how that happened, My phone is misbehaving, I'm extremely sorry for that.@A Simple Human: You didn't read my last message properly, where I mentioned that while adding day/night with matches we are taking into account PST. In Pakistan the matches starts at following times (4:30 pm and 9 pm). At 9 pm it's dark in Pakistan. So, Explain me how the matches starting at 9 should be considered as Day/night??? I'm not fighting with you, I'm just trying to explain to you my point on the topic. You are more experienced than me. I was just following ESPN on this matter and I was trying to add according to it. Thanks! The Floka (talk) 18:43, 1 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

The key thing here is for both parties to stop edit-warring about this. Leave it for now, no matter if one editor thinks it is wrong, and the other thinks it is right. Best place to discuss it further is on the article's talkpage, and also drop a note at WT:CRIC for further input. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:44, 1 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

A question?

edit

Hello I want to ask you a question, I am planning to make the article by the name Lahore Qalandars in 2020. Despite the fact, that the pages of Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad has been already created in March as they are eliminated from the series, but the one who qualified didn't have pages, can I create a page on Lahore Qalandars in 2020, or should wait until the series officially end? Thank you. Tahaaleem (talk) 19:56, 13 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, yes you can create the page and If you want, you can also start adding some content i.e, summary about their group stage matches. And, If you need any help, you can leave a message here. Floka 🐯 (talk) 20:24, 13 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

What is the need to create separate PSL squad templates?

edit

They are each only referenced in the parent team article, and they obscure how the page is constructed. Also, if you create a page as a copy+paste from somewhere else, you need to attribute it. Spike 'em (talk) 12:32, 22 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

I created those templates and replaced it with the old format because of the fact that some idiots regulary changes the (name, birth etc of the players, I feel the old format is not safe, I tried to make it similar like other leagues' have for example, IPL teams' roster templates.Floka 🐯 (talk) 12:46, 22 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

I hadn't spotted the IPL articles did the same (they also seem to only be used in the parent articles). I know there are vandals out there who seem to be amused by creating seemingly random team lists (or even worse, lists of support staff!), but I'm not sure hiding the lists in a template is the best way to solve this. A template is generally meant to be to used where code / data is reused in multiple articles. Spike 'em (talk) 15:24, 22 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Sockpuppet investigation

edit

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/The Floka, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
