Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:One Couple One Lawyer

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:One Couple One Lawyer, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Bishonen | tålk 19:47, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

I am requesting to be unblocked as this was my first article and I did not deliberately violate the Wikipedia rules. I am a family law barrister with a specialism in NCDR. I regularly give talks about the law in this area. I have a connection to The Divorce Surgery and wanted to be completely transparent about that, hence choosing the username and requesting editing approval. I did not realise the username had to be unconnected to the subject matter. I have received no compensation for my contribution. The intention of the article was to ensure that 'One Couple One Lawyer' had its own page in the same way in which mediation, arbitration and other NCDR processes do. I used the mediation page as a precedent. One Couple One Lawyer is referenced in the Family Procedure Rules and it is important for the public to understand what it is. Everything in the article is factually correct and referenced with legal sources. One option, if Wikipedia so wishes, would be to remove the 'origin' section. There will then be no reference to The Divorce Surgery at all. If I am unblocked the only contributions I intend to make relate to my specialism, which is the law relating to family law and NCDR in the UK. Decline reason:

It's not that the username needs to be unconnected to the subject matter, it is simply that it cannot be the name of an organization or website. You misunderstand Wikipedia in that it is not a place to merely give information that might help some part of the public. Wikipedia articles summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability. I might suggest that you read WP:EXPERT as well as conflict of interest as the only edits you seem to want to make are those about your conflict of interest. 331dot (talk) 08:16, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for sending those links which I have read. The intention was to provide "a summary of accepted knowledge regarding the subject" of One Couple One Lawyer. All the references are case law, legislation, speeches by senior judges etc. I have not referenced any of my own academic articles. But if the subject 'One Couple One Lawyer' is not one which Wikipedia currently wants to include I accept that decision and will no longer contribute further edits.
