Admin message edit

Hi, Channel of Random, thank you for helping revert vandalism. If you come across an article you think should be deleted, like ALLBRIGHT 1-800-PAINTING, which is indeed more like an advertisement, please don't blank it but put a speedy deletion template at the top of the article. Then an administrator will find it, and will delete it if they agree with you. (Deleting is stronger than blanking, and only admins can do it.)

Click on the speedy deletion link to see these templates and the reasons they can be applied. For instance, in the case of ALLBRIGHT 1-800-PAINTING, you want to add the template {{Db-g11}}, which will unfold into a text about advertising and promotion. Copypaste it just as it looks here in my message, with the curly brackets. Auric, who wrote to you above, has changed the title of the article to the more normal and Wikipedia-compliant Allbright Painting, but I still think it's an advertisement for a non-notable entity, and I will delete it in a minute or two. (You can see if you have time to add the speedy template before I do, if you like! :-) ) Happy editing. Bishonen | talk 17:56, 28 December 2015 (UTC).Reply

Blanking edit

Hi. I notice that at the Young Bane article, you reverted a blanking. Normally, this would be a good thing to do as blanking often equals vandalism. However, when the author of an article blanks it, and they are the only contributor of content to the article, this is taken as a request for deletion. In this case, G7 one author request for deletion is the tag to use (without reverting the blanking). Edits by others like tagging, typo correction, categories, and such, do not count as content, and removal of unsuitable content by someone other than the author is also disregarded when assessing the content contribution. If an article is later re-created and deleted more than once, admins give consideration to 'protecting' the title from creation. The more times an unsuitable article has reappeared, the more likely it is to be protected. However, an author request deletion isn't counted in this assessment - only the times it has been deleted against the wishes of the author. An author blanking their own work may remove a speedy tag, but they don't need to be warned about this as they are taken to be requesting deletion themselves anyway. Your warnings edit

Please explain how this is vandalism. --NeilN talk to me 15:18, 6 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

It just sounded like random addition. Plus, the grammar is a bit poor (notice how period is right before the beginning of first word with no space). And how there's some double spaces between some words. The Channel of Random (talk) 15:19, 6 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
The content fits in with the section and poor grammar is not vandalism. Please read WP:NOTVAND. I agree with your removal but please use the proper kinds of warnings when you revert. In this case, it should have been for adding unsourced material. --NeilN talk to me 15:23, 6 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
