Redirecting talk pages

edit

Hello Antichrome. I noticed that you were redirecting talk pages of IP users to User_talk:121.127.192.0/19. IP ranges don't normally have a talk page on their own, so there is no need to redirect the talk page of every IP in that /19 range to that talk page. Would you mind explaining why you are doing this? --*Fehufangą (✉ Talk · ✎ Contribs) 09:55, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

This is a dynamically assigned network. It is to assist in identifying and communicating with users of that network, and to help other editors understand and find edits made by users of the network, who may use use more than one address. Your conclusion does not follow from your premise. The Antichrome (talk) 10:00, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Again, this is not how things are normally done here. One IP address will have a single talk page, and there's not usually a need for a centralized talk page for ranges, which won't notify the users anyway. There are many other dynamically assigned networks, it's no use to create such redirects en masse. Please stop. --*Fehufangą (✉ Talk · ✎ Contribs) 10:02, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I'm on this range and have made edits on some of these numbers. If someone wants to talk about an edit I made, this way I can more easily monitor it. There is plenty of use and need. The Antichrome (talk) 10:07, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Other regular users can discover the central talk themselves when they find they talk page redirected and so learn to use it in future. The Antichrome (talk) 10:08, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't follow you here, /19 is a big range (  addresses, correct?), and you intend to redirect everything to the /19 talk page? You've registered an account now, and you should just be able to use this talk page for discussions, you won't have the issue of switching IPs and not seeing the same talk page every time you visit Wikipedia. --*Fehufangą (✉ Talk · ✎ Contribs) 10:12, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I only made this account to report a bug through phabricator. I do not indent on using it. Only addresses seen to make edits will be redirected. The Antichrome (talk) 10:14, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
If you can explain to me again how it is not useful to those IP users when one of them has just explained to you how it is in fact useful to them, I might consider listening to your opinion. No it is not policy or practice, merely your unsolicited opinion. The Antichrome (talk) 10:13, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Well for one, if the talk pages of those IP addresses are redirected, then they won't get a notification, at all. Second, it will be a much more confusing mess. User warnings will be placed on the central talk page whether or not it's relevant to the IP user reading it.
Consider reading Wikipedia:Talk_page_guidelines#Creating_talk_pages - though it's not policy, it's still a guideline. Talk pages are not created simply for future use. --*Fehufangą (✉ Talk · ✎ Contribs) 10:25, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
That is a blatant misconstruing of a guideline that did not have this usage in mind. Anyway, they are being created for the present purpose of redirecting them, not for future usage. The Antichrome (talk) 10:31, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  — TNT (talk • she/her) 13:29, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
By your own admission above, you are "not here to build an encyclopedia" and are instead creating a mess which I've had to clean up — TNT (talk • she/her) 13:31, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
I was obliged to create to report a bug I encountered while editing wikipedia. This bug prevented me from linking to a matter important to the Gaeltacht covered in both English and Irish wikipedia. I made it to report a bug to improve wikipedia. What I admitted to is preferring to edit whilst not logged in. You are deliberately misconstruing my statements and ignoring the constructive edits I have made globally as an IP user. The Antichrome (talk) 13:36, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Go edit logged out then, just not here. — TNT (talk • she/her) 13:44, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
My stating that it is not my intention to regularly log in to this account does not give you the right to prevent me from doing so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by The Antichrome (talkcontribs)
You have demonstrated, both in actions and words, that you are not here to build an encyclopedia. I couldn't care less about what edits you may or may not have made logged out on other projects, as that's not germane to me blocking this account on this project. — TNT (talk • she/her) 13:50, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) TheresNoTime had nothing to do with Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2022 June 7#Category:Wikipedians interested in Gaeldom, and as the actual nominator of that discussion I assure you it had nothing to do with any kind of prejudiced judgement of your interests. The above unblock request, although I'm not an admin so can't action it, seems to fail WP:NOTTHEM. Regardless of the fact that you were originally intending to report a bug, your edits seem to consist of creating a giant forest of pages that are almost all inappropriate for several reasons and have nothing to do with any bug report, one of which had to be oversighted, so you were correctly blocked. And personally attacking TheresNoTime will not get you anywere. * Pppery * it has begun... 13:54, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Gaeldom is a disambiguation into the country-specific gaeldoms, or gaeltachtaii. They are collectively known as an ghaeltacht, or the gaeldom. It the region of the Gaelic speaking majority. No it isn't contiguous to on landmass, but then neither is the united kingdom, but i dont see anyone deleting that. The Antichrome (talk) 13:59, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
This is plain racial discrimination. The Antichrome (talk) 14:00, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Pretending that Gael somehow don't exist, or that their collective territory is somehow arbitrary, despite the numerous articles on it. The Antichrome (talk) 14:00, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
Calling it "bizarre" really takes the biscuit. The Antichrome (talk) 14:02, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

The article matter in question is the Irish Gaeltachts national radio service in the national language. It has been given a mid-level importance on the English language wikipedias Irish portal. Naturally it is far more important to the Irish language wikipedia, being the most popular and national radio service. Your proposed deletion of my Gaeldom category seems to be solely based on your prejudiced judgement of my interests in wikipedia. The Antichrome (talk) 13:44, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I was obliged to create to report a bug I encountered while editing wikipedia. This bug prevented me from linking to a matter important to the Gaeltacht covered in both English and Irish wikipedia. I made it to report a bug to improve wikipedia. What I admitted to is preferring to edit whilst not logged in. You are deliberately misconstruing my statements and ignoring the constructive edits I have made globally as an IP user.

I would like to point out that the user who blocked me (TNT) appears to be from the United Kingdom, whose subjects have a long and continuing history of anti-Gaelic discrimination. The Antichrome (talk) 9:39 am, Today (UTC−4)

Decline reason:

I'm going to let you know right now ad hominem attacks will not be tolerated. Read Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks to see how to post an acceptable unblock request. -- LuK3 (Talk) 14:06, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Uh huh. Another UK user saying that calling out anti-Gaelicism is personal attack. Surprise surprise. The Antichrome (talk) 14:11, 7 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
