Recurring edit at Eurovision Song Contest 2016 edit

Please refrain making recurring edits on Wikipedia, as you did on Eurovision Song Contest 2016. If would you like to experiment, use your sandbox. Thank you. --Tarkattack (talk) 17:13, 1 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Tarkattack: I do not know what you mean by "recurring edits", so I think that it is unlikely that a recently registered user will either. I can find nothing notably wrong with this user's edits to Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Please refrain from giving inappropriate warnings to editors, particularly to those that have recently registered. If, after carefully reviewing a person's edits, you conclude that they are acting inappropriately, use an appropriate template at WP:WARN – please do not make-up new templates.
@ThePhantomKid012: Thank you for your contributions. I hope you continue editing. CT Cooper · talk 12:49, 2 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Copyright violation edit

You have recently uploaded File:Eurovision 2016 Logo.jpg to Wikimedia Commons. The file breaches copyright violations which is not permitted on commons. Such logos should be uploaded locally just like File:Esc2015logo.png has been done. Just making you aware as the commons logo will be deleted in due course. February 2016 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your user subpage at User:ThePhantomKid012/sandbox may not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline. If you believe that your user page does not violate our guideline, please leave a note on this page. Alternatively you may add {{Db-u1}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it, or you can simply edit the page so that it meets Wikipedia's user page guideline. Please not that WP:UPNOT strongly advises not to use any user space to host any type of fiction/games/roleplaying sessions whatsoever. So please remove such content immediately. Wes Mouse  04:27, 8 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

That page is just my imagination. I do not think that page should be deleted because the sandbox allows me to create whatever I would like, this is why it is called a sandbox. If you would like, you can make my page private to everyone but me, if that is possible, but I do not see why it should be removed. A sandbox should be a place for users to experiment with Wikipedia skills, and that is exactly what I have done. So I, personally, do not think that my page violates the guidelines, because a sandbox is not a real article, it is just a place to test out one's skills. Thank you. ThePhantomKid012 (talk) 04:52, 8 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Contrary to what you believe, the sandbox, even though in your user space, does not exactly belong to you. Wikipedia:Ownership of content#User pages explicitly states that user pages (including sandboxes) "are not personal homepages, and are not owned by the user, they are part of Wikipedia and must serve its primary purposes". Also WP:UPYES gives information regarding how sandboxes are suppose to be used. Another user had similar content in their user page and recently received a 1-month block because they refused to remove the content. So yes, a sandbox can be used to test out syntax and wikicodes etc. But they should not resemble an article, unless you are creating a draft article that will become an official mainspace article in the near future. Most of the work in my sandboxes are draft articles, or articles that I am in the middle of expanding, and chosen to do so in my sandbox so that I can avoid edit conflicts. You may also wish to add {{User sandbox}} to the top of your sandbox (you'll find some editors use that template. Wes Mouse  05:36, 8 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

I see you have now added even more material to your user page that goes against WP:UPNOT, despite the fact you had removed the previous content as requested. I strongly urge that you remove this new content immediately, or you may face a block, just like another user did very recently for hosting similar content on their user page. I have already notified CT Cooper about your behaviour a few weeks ago, so if I were you I would remove the content and use such space more wisely and productively. Notes sections edit

Please do not move the notes sections on the article Eurovision Song Contest 2016 as you did in this edit. There is a strict manual of style guidance that must be followed in regards to article layout. As details at MOS:LAYOUT, WP:SECTIONORDER, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Format and Guides, all layouts need to be done correctly. The notes regarding the potential song change for Malta is suppose to be located at the bottom as this has been the standard practice before for WikiProject Eurovision, the same applies for song languages. If they have been moved elsewhere on other articles, then they have been done so in vandalism or by error. I strongly advise you in future to familiarise yourself with procedures and all of the manual of style guidelines in order to prevent future errors of practice. All featured articles have their "Notes and References" sections located correctly at the bottom of an article, which is in-line with the WP:SECTIONORDER rules. And before you attempt to throw in a counter-argument and say that the article isn't "feature status" just yet. Yes, I know it isn't. But if we are to achieve such statuses, then we should be following all the correct procedures in order to be working towards the goal of achieving featured articles, and not just good articles. Misuse of userspace edit

Hello,

It has come to my attention that you are using your user space for the hosting of fictional gaming content in violation of the Wikipedia:User pages guidelines, as covered WP:UPNOT. In particular these guidelines do not allow Extensive writings and material on topics having virtually no chance whatsoever of being directly useful to the project, its community, or an encyclopedia article and Games, roleplaying sessions, secret pages and other things pertaining to "entertainment" rather than "writing an encyclopedia". Please keep in mind that Wikipedia is not a free webhost and that your userpage does not belong to you. We are coming down hard on users who use Wikipedia as free host for these fictional song contests - too many people have gotten the idea that this is acceptable. A little bit more leeway is given for users who make valid contributions to the encyclopedia, but only a little, and you've long gone past that I'm afraid.

I'm giving you one more chance to make amends yourself: you have seven days from when I post this to removed all offending content from your userspace. After this time has past, your entire userspace i) must be clean of offending content and ii) must remain clear of such content. Adding and then swiftly removing inappropriate content will also be disallowed as you are still wasting Wikipedia's resources. If these requirements are not followed then I will remove the offending content myself and block your account and/or protect your userspace from editing. The choice is yours. CT Cooper · talk 00:27, 6 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Just to remind you, the seven day grace period is now over. Your userspace is free of inappropriate content and I hope it stays that way. CT Cooper · talk 19:08, 14 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Follow procedure edit

Per this revert you started edit warring, rather than the correct procedure of bold, revert, discuss in which I have acted upon. These 2 edits come under as bold. My edit is classified as the revert. And this thread on the talk page is the discuss part of WP:BRD. I appreciate that you asked someone, but don't forget we should be avoiding original research. The source used speaks in depth about participating at the 2017 contest. And as there are now conflicting sources, I initiated the discussion so that we can clear up any confusion quickly. Please take part in the talk debate at Talk:Eurovision Song Contest 2017#Confusion over Bosnia. Thanks. Wes Mouse  T@lk 20:36, 28 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
