March 2022 edit

Hello, I'm Streetlampguy301. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Osmania University, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. The source you provided in your addition is not a reliable source. Streetlampguy301 (talk) 15:51, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to List of Osmania University people. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 15:59, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

The changes I made for osmania university are correct and legit edit

Please change them back TheInternetContributer (talk) 16:27, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your edit added a number of spam links to www.suhainvestments.com, they have no place in the Osmania University article or anywhere else for that matter. Theroadislong (talk) 16:50, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
No. "Notable" in Wikipedia parlance means that there is already a Wikipedia article about that person. David notMD (talk) 17:54, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Teahouse talkback: you've got messages! edit

Can anyone please help me out in making a Wikipedia page for a public figure who is quite famous and has articles written TheInternetContributer (talk) 16:38, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

You have received replies at the Teahouse, please go to WP:TEAHOUSE to see them and offer other comment if need be. 331dot (talk) 16:44, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
You are flooding Wikipedia with the same question over and over. Please take a moment to see the feedback you have gotten. 331dot (talk) 17:06, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry for flooding but if i make a edit or ask questions they change it i am getting fed up of editing same thing Please TheInternetContributer (talk) 17:39, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please place your edits in the larger edit window, not the smaller section header/edit summary window. You can avoid creating section headers by clicking "edit" and not "new section" at the top of this page when in full desktop mode(even on a device, the mobile/app version does not have full functionality). Please review the information you have been given. You may find the New User tutorial helpful. I would take much time to gain experience and knowledge before attempting to write an article, the hardest thing to do here. 331dot (talk) 17:47, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

please help me in building a page of existing person TheInternetContributer (talk) 15:40, 6 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
The hardest thing you can attempt to do on Wikipedia is to create a new article(not a "page"). It is highly recommended that you first spend time editing existing articles in areas that interest you, to get a feel for how Wikipedia operates and what is expected of article content. It's also a good idea to use the new user tutorial to learn more about Wikipedia.
If you really want to create a new article now, despite this warning, you must read Your First Article, you may then use Articles for Creation to create and submit a draft. You will want to review the Wikipedia definition of a notable person to see if this person meets it, and also gather independent reliable sources with significant coverage(not brief mentions, interviews, announcements, or anything from the person themselves). 331dot (talk) 17:02, 6 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please see Referencing for beginners. 331dot (talk) 15:23, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Can anybody help me in writing that? TheInternetContributer (talk) 15:28, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

In writing what? A paid disclosure? Instructions are provided below. 331dot (talk) 15:36, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I find it difficult editing the reference and then publishing...can anybody please volunteer and help me in making the edits TheInternetContributer (talk) 15:40, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

First, you must make the paid disclosure as instructed below. This is a Terms of Use requirement and mandatory as you state you are this person's representative. Please understand Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell the world about someone and their accomplishments. A Wikipedia article must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a person, showing how they meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable person. If you are this person's paid representative it is incumbent upon you to take the time to learn exactly how to do what you want to do, or if you even can. 331dot (talk) 17:25, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sure I have tried 100 times now and you guys keep deleting everything the hardwork and time we take in writing the article... TheInternetContributer (talk) 18:22, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Who is we? You have no deleted contributions so I'm not sure what you mean. I've given you a link on how to write references. Are you having difficulty finding references to write? Every substantive fact in an article about a living person must have a reference. What are your three best references? 331dot (talk) 20:04, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

My three best references are Mashable,IMDB,Moj,Instagram,Any Many others articles on google TheInternetContributer (talk) 20:59, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Instagram or any social media is not a proper reference. A Wikipedia article must summarize independent reliable sources wholly unconnected with the topic. IMDB is not a proper source as it is user editable. 331dot (talk) 21:02, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

So then I have sources like Mashable, History TV18, infofamouspeople TheInternetContributer (talk) 21:06, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please link to the specific sources. Just telling where the source is is insufficient. 331dot (talk) 23:10, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

There a re many videos and interviews that he has given interview for and has been featured TheInternetContributer (talk) 23:20, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Interviews are not acceptable, as that is a primary source. We want to know what others completely unconnected with him say about him, not what he says about himself. 331dot (talk) 00:12, 8 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

There are many articles written on him TheInternetContributer (talk) 00:28, 8 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

It is up to you to locate those articles, summarize them, and properly cite them. If you don't know how to do this, you should take the time to learn. You also still need to formally declare as a paid editor. 331dot (talk) 08:21, 8 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

How many cites to add? TheInternetContributer (talk) 08:22, 8 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

There is not a specific number, but to pass the draft submission process most reviewers look for at least three sources to be summarized. Again, these cannot be interviews or any materials directly from this person. They also cannot be brief mentions, the coverage must be significant. I would highly advise you to use the new user tutorial and read Your First Article. 331dot (talk) 08:25, 8 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

April 2022 edit

Hello TheInternetContributer. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:TheInternetContributer. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=TheInternetContributer|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 15:23, 7 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
